Budapest has celebrated Christmas for a thousand years, since the reign of St. Stephen, the king who founded Hungary and encouraged the spread of Christianity throughout his realm. As you ramble through the Christmas Market on Vörösmarty Square, admiring the handmade porcelain, stop to watch as kürtos kalács (a pastry) is baked on rods over an open fire and then coated with sugar before it’s handed to you.

Our tour guide - Cuki - was the best. This was my husband and my 1st trip to Europe and it was perfect. Loved staying in 1 hotel for most of the trip and not having to pack up every day. Our favorite part was getting to explore each town on our own after we had our tours. We felt safe and acclimated to roam on our own. The carriage ride was definitely one of the highlights for me. Finding a local pub was on my husband’s list and we did in Innsbruck. The markets were magical (especially at night). Munich was fun and beautiful too! The market square was filled with Christmas cheer. Hofbrau house was another great adventure. Always wanted to go there. We also found the pink Christmas market which was stunningly beautiful. We met so many fun and nice people on the tour. We also made strudel - which I made for my friends at our Christmas party. Another highlight was the Tyrolean dinner and folklore show hosted by the talented Gundolf family. Dressed in traditional Austrian attire, they delighted us with beautiful songs, energetic dances, and performances on unique instruments—including a saw using a bow! Lastly we happen to see the scary creatures - Krumpus - are part of the Bavarian Christmas traditions. What a fun trip and we’d recommend it to many of our friends!!!
Journey through the snow-capped peaks of the Austrian Alps on this grand tour of Vienna’s Schönbrunn Palace, Salzburg’s 500-year-old Christmas Market and Munich’s six-storey-tall Christmas tree. Enjoy an Insight Choice in snow-dusted Seefeld: glide through the countryside on a horse-drawn carriage or savour coffee and cake in a Tyrolean cafe. Then feel the festive magic of Innsbruck, where Glühwein, Swarovski crystal and the Christmas Market’s cheerful bustle await. At the Salzburg Market Tasting experience, meet a local market stallholder for a warm cup of mulled wine accompanied by traditional gingerbread. In Neuschwanstein, follow in Walt Disney’s footsteps on a tour of the fairy-tale-like castle that reputedly inspired him, complete with extravagant decorations and breathtaking views.
