This is our signature Jordan small-group tour, mixing the classic sites of Jerash and Petra with more active hikes in Petra and Wadi Mujib, a Wadi Rum jeep safari and Bedouin experience, a Dead Sea swim, Red Sea visit and much more!
We start by heading out of Amman to discover the northern city of As-Salt where we'll take a walking tour along the Harmony Trail, a local initiative demonstrating the friendship between the local Muslim and Christian populations. We'll then return to the capital city, Amman to explore downtown, including the Citadel and Roman Theatre. We'll also sample some local cuisine with a food tasting experience.
As we begin our journey to the south of the country, we'll make a stop at the Dana Biosphere Reserve, where a short hike takes us around the restored Dana Village in the Dana Biosphere Reserve, Jordan's largest nature reserve. You'll then have some free time in Aqaba to relax, explore the reefs or even take a morning boat trip.
Leaving the coast behind, we turn our focus towards the desert, as we head to the beautiful scenery of Wadi Rum where we'll spend the night in a comfortable Bedouin camp against the towering cliffs. The next morning we take a jeep safari through the sand dunes and past amazing rock bridges before spending some time with a local Bedouin shepherd, learning about their nomadic way of life and how they look after their animals in the desert.
Our next stop is the jewel in Jordans crown, the 'lost' Nabataean City of Petra, which we reach via the lesser known back-route hike. Before embarking on our hike into Petra, we'll explore the small but equally interesting site of Little Petra, or Siq al-Barid. From here we'll take a short jeep ride to the start of the mountail trail which links Little Petra to the Monastery and main site of Petra. The back-route into Petra makes for an interesting and much less crowded way of visiting, and what's more, you'll be rewarded with incredible mountain views towards the Holy Land. Whilst hiking the back-route you'll still have the opportunity to see all of the same monuments visited on the normal route, with the addition of Little Petra and the Monastery.
Time for another change of scenery as we drive along the scenic Dead Sea road this morning, you'll have some great views of the salt-flats at the Southern end of the Dead Sea. Our first stop of the day will be Wadi Mujib, where you'll have a day of adventure, hiking through water, a climbing up small waterfalls, along the famous Siq Trail. After a day of activities, we'll make our way down to our resort right on the banks of the Dead Sea, where you have some free time to swim - or rather float - in its incredibly salty waters and to relax by the hotel pool. Don't forget a newspaper or magazine for your iconic Dead Sea photo!
On our final day of sightseeing, we'll visit the Roman mosaics at Madaba, the amazing views towards Jericho and Israel from Mt. Nebo follow and the amazing Roman site of Jerash, one of the very best preserved in the whole of the Middle East.

Jordan has been on my bucket list for a long time and this trip ticked all my boxes! It was eye-opening as we visited all the UNESCO sites of Jordan and visiting the castles, church ruins and learning about the influence from the Bronze Age, Roman, Byzantine and Umayya. The preserved Mosaics were a highlight too! Despite what is going on in neighbouring countries, we felt very safe. Sadly, due to the ongoing conflict is having an impact on tourism and locals, so the Jordanians needs us more than ever! This did mean we had most of the sites to ourselves such as the baptism site & the Treasury!
We stayed at Mujib Chalet which meant we were away from the big hotels and was able to enjoy the Dead Sea for ourselves, and it was only a few mins walk from our chalet. The sunset here was magical! The food were delicious, everyone was catered for (veggies and meat), the humous was the best we ever tried! We also visited during the harvest of olives (happens from late Oct- early Dec) so be prepared to get fresh olives wherever you go :)

Excellent trip. Great balance between cycling and sightseeing. Tour leader couldn't be better - great English, very knowledgeable about the culture and history / archaeology - and supported by an excellent team. Jordan is such an amazing country, and seems entirely safe from the nearby conflict in Gaza.

Book this guided, group tour with us to visit Masada, the symbol of the ancient kingdom of Israel, and the Dead Sea from Tel Aviv within one day. Our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Tel Aviv in the morning. Take the route down from Jerusalem, descending below sea level through a Biblical wilderness towards the Dead Sea.
On the way, you will see the Inn of the Good Samaritan. Stop en route to take a look across the desert as you pass the point that marks the sea level. The ancient city of Jericho can be seen in the distance. This is where Joshua's troops caused the walls to fall (Joshua 6) and where Jesus healed the blind (Mark 10:46-52). Reach the shores of the Dead Sea encrusted with white salt and follow the shoreline towards Masada. Although it is possible to climb the ancient Snake Path up Masada as the Romans did 2,000 years ago, you will take the convenient cable car up to the mountain-top plateau. It was here that King Herod built a fortified palace complete with every convenience. Herod had also built a swimming pool, water cisterns, two palaces, store rooms and even a synagogue.
Following Herod's death, the mountain top was the last outpost of Jewish zealots when the Romans tried to rid the land of Jews in the First Jewish-Roman War from 66 AD to 73 AD. The Jewish zealots maintained their position for three years before the Romans finally managed to scale Masada using a ramp built by slaves. The 960 Jews didn't wait for the Romans to reach the summit. Instead, they killed themselves, becoming religious martyrs.
Masada was where the first parchment from this era was discovered during an Israeli archaeological excavation. On the parchment was the prophesy of Ezekiel, "…I will take the children of Israeli from among the nations…and bring them into their own land…." (Ezekiel 37). Heading back to the Dead Sea, you will pass the desert oasis of Ein Gedi, where David hid from angry King Saul, as well as Qumran, where the 2,000-year-old Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in hillside caves.
Stop at the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth and a contender for the title of one of the world's seven wonders, at the end of the day. People come from across the globe to enjoy its therapeutic, mineral-rich waters. Don't worry if you do not know how to swim. The high salt content will keep you afloat.
Join this Galilee and Golan 2-day tour and discover the hidden gems of northern Israel. You’ll be accompanied by a professional local guide for 2 fully guided days of this package tour. The tour takes you through the idyllic countryside and across the Jordan River to the Golan Heights. Pass the hot springs of Hamat Gader and stop at the Shalom Observatory to take in the panoramic views. Tour the Talmudic village at Katzrin and the Golan Antiquities Museum. On the peak of Mount Bental explore a former Syrian outpost. The tour includes 1 night of bed and breakfast accommodation at a local kibbutz guesthouse. On day 2 take a look around the kibbutz and learn about this unique community. Then visit Mount Hermon Stream Nature Reserve and see the fairy-tale countryside of Banias. Here you can tour the ruins of a Roman city, and see babbling brooks, lush woodlands, and waterfalls. Visit Nimrod Fortress and tour the cobbled streets of Safed, the birthplace of Jewish mysticism, better known as Kabbalah.
