I cannot thank our guide Youssef and mule driver Mustafa enough, they were absolutely brilliant and really made this trip extremely special. I’ve completely fallen in love with the Atlas Mountains and the kind people who live there.
The trail is beautiful and takes you through varied and geologically interesting landscapes. We did the walk in December, and there hadn’t been snowfall yet, so the walk itself wasn’t overly strenuous giving us the chance to take in the surroundings and put the world to rights, and time to explore the villages in the evenings.
We were fortunate enough to have clear skies every night - in the small villages the view of the stars is incredible!

Walking Granada and in Las Alpujarras was an amazing walk, in beautiful autumn weather. The region and its villages was fascinating, the accommodation and food commendable. We had a glitch with bus travel to the first village, but on the whole, everything went very well. I would recommend this walk.
My trip to Morocco was an unforgettable adventure, offering a deep dive into local culture, warm hospitality, and incredible experiences. A highlight was exploring the mesmerizing medina of Fez, where history, craftsmanship, and vibrant markets brought the city to life. The culinary experience was equally amazing, with the rich flavors of Moroccan cuisine leaving a lasting impression?especially the delicious goat tagine. I greatly enjoyed walking the Camino between Logroño and León (continuing from where I stopped last year). People had told me this central stretch is boring, but I didn't find it so. They did a great job of arranging hotel bookings and luggage transport. I can't wait to go back and complete the final section.
