This is my second time traveling with Europamundo, it is always a unique experience. This time, my trip was extra wonderful thanks to our guide Encarnacion. She was lovely, friendly, and enthusiastic throughout the trip. Just like us she was tired and cold (because the temperature was cold) but she always smiled and helped us with any questions or concerns.
I did have two issues in the trip, the first one was when arriving at the airport there was no one waiting on us. I waited about 30 minutes for the Europamundo transfer driver to come. I ended up calling the 24hrs number and while I was in the middle of the phone call the driver arrived. The other issue was with the transfer at the end of the tour from the hotel in Paris to the airport. I scheduled the transfer with Europamundo for 6:30 am and at 6:25am a taxi arrived at the lobby asking for the two people going to the airport. At that time the lobby was empty, only my partner and I were there so I asked him if he knew the reservation name, but the driver answered that he didnt but the reservation was for two people going to the Charles De Guilles airport so it was obvious that it was my friends and I transfer. In the middle of the trip to the airport the driver asked us if we knew the price for this transportation and I said yes, but I already paid for it since it was booked ahead of time. He answered that he wasnt paid for this trip and that we needed to pay him. So we ended up paying again for the transportation.
Although I got a good understanding of what my trip would entail, some of the details such as times of activities and hotel selections were a bit unclear until last minute.
This tour was such a great way to experience Greece. The itinerary was full of highlights. Hotels are standard tourist class, not bad. Food is OK. Guides and drivers are fantastic.
The biggest trip that was on the itinerary that was excluded was the train ride from Innsbruck to Zurich. In the vouchers, it said cancelation is possible for bad weather. The guide stated there was no planned train ride, and its for less than 25 people which at the time was correct for the number of people on the bus.
The guides should look at putting a meeting point in a less busy area. For example, the guide switched at the Louvre Museum and choose to meet near a busy street intersection causing us to wait +30 mins as people werent present.
Some of the buses were well equipped with ac, power and wifi. While most buses had bathrooms, they asked us not to use it as we make stops at least every 2 hrs. Some stops never happened as some days were 3-4 hrs becauses they were behind schedule. The bus from Prague to Innsbruck broke at a rest stop. The driver use zip ties to secure the door and continue to drive. While at Munich, the driver proceeded to get the bus fix without telling the guide and they couldnt speak the same language. Almost 1.5hr later the bus showed up and later that day we shared a bus with another group to Innsbruck.
