Private tour of the ruins of herculaneum
See the ruins of Herculaneum, the smaller, but no less impressive, sister of Pompeii, frozen in time by the same devastating volcanic eruption of August 24th 79 AD. Left buried under the rubble of ash until the 1700s, its discovery stunned the world.
All of the ancient town lies at the bottom of an archaeological hole, about 75 feet deep. Getting closer, see the area of the marina where 300 human skeletons were found along with a boat (on display at weekends).
Discover the garden of the “House of the Albergo”, where quince trees have been replanted following evidence of carbonized roots of the ancient fruit tree. Your next stop is the Council Hall of the Augustali, where beautiful frescoes depict Hercules.
Visit the mosaics in the House of Neptune and Amphitrite, and the neighboring store where food and wine containers, carbonised by the volcano, still hang on the walls! Go to the ancient spa, still covered with mosaics from the Roman saunas, gyms, hot rooms, and cold tubs.
Finally, see the most spectacular villa of Herculaneum at Villa Dei Cervi, with its luxurious mosaics, frescoes, and statues.

This is not an old church, dating from 1909, but there has been a church in Coptic Cairo dedicated to the Martyr since the 10th-century. It is one of the few remaining circular churches in the Middle East.
Your next stop is the Abu Serga, one of the places where the Holy Family rested after fleeing Israel from King Herod. At the turn of the century this little church, which dates from the 10th-century, was the most important pilgrimage spot in Old Cairo for visiting Christian tourists. There are 24 marble columns lining the central court and a series of 12th-century icons depicting the 12 apostles.
Ben Ezra Synagogue is one of the oldest in Egypt. Set in a beautiful garden, it was built on the site of a 4th-century Christian church. The synagogue was severely damaged by Arabs after the 1967 war with Israel, but it has been almost completely renovated.
Then visit the Coptic Museum at the end of the tour. The Museum is located in an area of great historical importance within the precinct of the Babylon Fort. Occupying over 8,000 sq meters the museum features almost 16,000 objects of importance to the Copts of Egypt.

GIZA ZOO AND WILDLIFE TOUR IN CAIRO
Our guide will pickup you from your hotel at 10:00 am to start your half day Tour to Giza Zoo.
Giza Zoo overlooks Cairo University; it has five gates on all sides, and was built in 80 acres of land. Inside the zoo there are over 130 species of mammals, birds and reptiles. Most of the greenery in the zoo is because of rare plants, and the gorgeous grottoes.
Other than playing host to a number of animals, the zoo also has an animal museum, an animal experimental center and an animal behavioral study institute. Not to mention that the zoo works on saving endangered animals through breeding and then relocating the animals to their original habitats.
Some of the animals you can find here are baboons, chimpanzees, lions, leopards, jackals, kangaroos, sea lions, and bears. Also many breeds of birds can be found like vultures, pelicans, cockatoos, emus, flamingos, and sacred ibises. You can also find reptiles such as crocodiles, alligators, and cobras.
In 2010, the Zoo had new arrivals, three orangutans (Teetee, Fatouta, Bangu), Bonnet Macaques, Rhesus Macaque, Pigtail Macaque, and Patas monkey. Also, baby animals were born this year including a beautiful American black bear named Lola.
Theres also the touching story of Muzas survival. She is a beautiful chimp, who arrived to the Zoo in April 2010 exhausted and with several tumors. A team of zoo vets took good care of her, and successfully removed the two tumors from her neck and chest
To have a nice day at the zoo with the animals, you have to come prepared. Our advice would be that you make sure when you visit the Giza Zoo that there is someone else to walk its long streets with you. There is power in numbers; almost everything is more fun with other people to enjoy it with you.
The best time to visit would be in the early mornings between the months of October and January (during national holidays the number of people there can get overwhelming). Its much less crowded and you can actually enjoy the day with cooler weather. There are plenty of benches and seating areas around.
At 14:00 we transfer you back to your hotel.
