We enjoyed every minute of it. It combined a wealth of opportunites to get closer to an understanding of the Japanese view of life with many of the 'must see' sites. Add to that the exposure to a fantastic cuisine and a great bunch of fellow travelers, and what more could you ask for?
Home to sumo wrestling, sake, geishas, karaoke and onsens, Japan’s got a lot going for it. And on this nine-day trip to some of its most acclaimed cities, you’ll get to see the country at its best. Take in the neon nightlife of Tokyo, reflect during a visit to Hiroshima, discover thousands of years of culture and history in Kyoto and finish in the eclectic Osaka. And have you heard about the food? World-class sushi, ravishing ramen, delectable donburi – you certainly won’t be going hungry. With your local leader to point you in all the right directions and plenty of time to explore at your own pace, experience the culture and charm of the Land of the Rising Sun.
After 7 wonderful trips with excellent guide I had with gadventures I am very disappointed by this particular experience, it would have ruined my Japan experience if it hadn’t been for the extern guides and a wonderful group of travelers.
An amazing way to experience Japan in a short trip for your first time. Being able to meet people all over the world and share the experience was perfect. For the price and freedom to explore when not busy was worth every cent. Almost overwhelming how much you get to see and do in the prettiest place in the world. Felt safe and if I needed anything my guide was able to help. Met so many amazing people that I consider valued friends in just 10 days of fun. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Beginning in tech-mecca Tokyo and finishing in Kyoto, this 12-day trip will introduce you to iconic landmarks and the lesser-known cities through Japan’s central and western reaches. Ride the scenic ropeway in Hakone, stay with a local family in Hagi and see the floating torii gate of Miyajima Island. Wander through Takayama’s Hida Folk Village, visit the Peace Park in Hiroshima and join your local leader on an walk through the historic Gion District in Kyoto.
Osaka’s vibrant energy is matched only by the serene landscapes of northern Japan on the 'Traditional Japan and North of Japan - End Sapporo' tour. Over 11 days, this guided sightseeing journey invites seniors to experience the diversity of Hakodate, Sapporo, and five other destinations, blending city life with northern beauty. All accommodations, meals, and transport are included, ensuring comfort throughout. What sets this group trip apart is its northward route, offering an uncommon perspective on Japan’s contrasting regions in a format designed for ease and enjoyment.
I had the pleasure of having Meg as our tour guide during our trip to Japan, and she truly made the experience unforgettable. Megs knowledge of Japans history, culture, and hidden gems was remarkable. She brought each location to life with engaging stories and insights that you wouldnt find in any guidebook. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and she went out of her way to ensure everyone in the group was comfortable and had a great time. Whether it was helping us navigate the busy streets of Tokyo or guiding us through the temples of Kyoto, Meg was always attentive and patient. If youre looking for a tour guide in Japan who is knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, I highly recommend Meg.
Stray off the tourist trail with an eight-day hiking adventure on some of the great ancient pilgrim routes in Japan. The Koya-san and Kumano Kodo treks take you deep through the wilderness and into the mountainous landscapes of Honshu, as you gain insight into the strong connection with past and present pilgrims. Along the way, stop by peaceful temples and monasteries, soak in traditional onsen and discover the cultural hubs of Kyoto and Osaka. This small-group adventure will give you both a physical and cultural workout around the best of enchanting Japan.
I think it was a lot of fun exploring different cities with a bunch of other travelers who were open to new ideas/experiences. Amie did a great job guiding us through this fast paced tour of Japan.
