Whatever you choose will be added on to an already packed day. This was a fun trip, but it was very fast-paced. It gave a great overview of all that the UK and Ireland have to offer, but there wasn’t enough time to see very much of it in depth. It’s perfect for helping you pick out the places you want to see again in more detail. It involves a fair amount of riding around on the coach, but the route is consistently planned with carefully spaced “comfort” breaks. Some of the stops in small towns were given too much time, when there wasn’t much to do or see, and some of the stops could have been longer, when there was a lot to see or do. Our Tour Director was excellent, and so was our driver. Most of the hotels were very nice, with a few that were just OK. The included group dinners weren’t very exciting, but they were reasonable and tasty.

Enjoyed this trip and all the optional choices. Weather couldn't have been better. Food was good. Free time and tour experiences were nicely balanced.
Tour Guide and Bus Driver was great. I was traveling solo and felt safe.
The one thing that could have gone better, was accommodations. The Leonardo Hotel in Cardiff and Liverpool was not a good experience. The room was not clean, carpet, window treatments and furniture was old and in bad repair.

The highlights are just that as it is a complicated history and the natural beauty is apparent wherever one travels. The level of activity requires a good deal of walking and the pace is spirited. It meets the high standard of both G Adventures and National Geographic.

My wife and I were blessed to have a wonderful tour guide who shared his expansive knowledge of Ireland. He shared personal stories, read poems and sang to our group all along our journey. We also had a terrific driver who was super experienced and professional. We felt extremely safe with him behind the wheel. All things considered, it was a near perfect trip.

Fantastic trip director and bus driver, Karin Reum and Noel. They made the trip a total experience with laughter, merriment, and compassion along our journey. Great itinerary, hotels, staff at the hotels and restaurants were extraordinary, and side excursions were great fun. I worked in the incentive travel industry for 30 years and I have to say this group was the best of the best. They really cared about our well being and always over delivered with little surprises to go above and beyond. The motor coach was awesome too! Exceeded my expectations!!
