I enjoyed this holiday so much. The itinerary was very well balanced with a host of different activities and experiences. It was good to spend at least two nights in each location and have time to appreciate where we were staying. We have been on quite a few Exodus trips before, but this was one of the best. Some of the accommodation was very good indeed, notably the Martin House guest lodge in De Rust and the apartments in Hermanus.

Spend ten thrilling days exploring the beautiful and diverse Cape region of South Africa. This part of the country offers memorable experiences for lovers of adventure, culture, history and nature.
The tour begins with free time to explore the Mother City of Cape Town independently, taking your pick of all the famous landmarks and sites. You then travel along the stunning Garden Route, stopping to see and experience the best it has to offer. Knysna, Oudtshoorn, Cape Agulhas, the Bloukrans Bridge, Hermanus, Tsitsikamma - all before a Big 5 safari in Addo Elephant National Park. We then return to Cape Town again.

Accommodation is based in either single, twin or double rooms in deluxe guesthouses or good quality Backpackers where you can stay in shared dorm rooms or private single, twin or doubles. Lovely trip, this is my second explore trip, the first was a very experienced guide in Costa Rica, Nathi was our guide for this one he said he was new to explore, what he lacked in explore experience he gained in his buzzing personality and local knowledge, he was a great kind and considerate guide nothing was too much trouble. He arranged things and recommend things sharing his knowledge freely. As he gets more experience he’ll be a great asset to Explore. You never know what people you’ll get on such a holiday and I’m always a bit apprehensive since I don’t suffer fools. Fortunately everyone seemed to bond by the end of the 2 weeks. Re the itinerary it was a good balance, maybe include the wine tasting as part of it instead of an option.

Kruger to Addo, eSwatini & Lesotho' - August 2026
Do not miss this chance to explore Southern Africa and its wonders during a 15-day, self-driving trip. This holiday was brilliant, it was so varied with both itinery and challenging weather. As always, the trip was made even better with our guide. Rano was excellent and his knowledge was exceptional, The accomodation was different at every stop and the restaurants gave us every style of food imaginable, The day trips were excellent especially Table mountain and the whale watching, but every other trip was brilliant, from wine tasting to seal island, everything was designed to show South Africa at its best. A must do holiday.

Sunway-safaris had done a very good job in organising the trip and the guilds Claude and Duncan did a fantastic job to make everything happened smoothly. They are responsible, efficient and organised; they know their job well and are just amazing! There are some very long drives but we had a good time because everyone in the group is so fun loving!
