Wonderful trip. Loved the culture and the food. A nice mix of cathedrals and castles and monasteries. Sintra was excellent and loved the Cork Farm tour and also the winery. River boat ride in Porto was good as well as the Port tasting. Excellent trip overall and exactly what I was expecting. Fredy was always available and communicative. The German Danube cycle tour is a great way to visit the German countryside. The bike tracks are very safe, sometimes sealed and sometimes gravel, but never difficult to ride on. The accommodation was excellent, as were the meals provided. The bikes and guide documentation were all first class. Note it does take a little while to learn to read the maps properly, but no issues. Would recommend to anyone looking for a slightly longer tour.

As a package this trip comes together incredibly well. The walk is nicely challenging for those used to hills, steps and uneven surfaces. I would grade it “moderate” rather than “leisurely to moderate”. Being based in one place for the week, in a small village away from the main tourist spots, was a bonus I hadn’t anticipated before the walk. The accommodation was peaceful and comfortable. The guide had an excellent knowledge of local history and its people. His stories and passion enriched the whole experience no end.

What a wonderful trip! This trip activity level is rated 3 of 4 (strenuous) so be prepared for lots of walking and hiking, although it is ALL very doable.
