Take off on an unforgettable journey down Italy’s rarely visited heel, getting to know another side of this beautiful country. See the beauty of Amalfi, unwind in style among the sophisticates of Trani and tour the Roman ruins, baroque churches and whitewashed alleyways of Lecce. Wander among the peculiarly shaped houses of Alberobello, wander the hillside dwellings of Matera and discover the Old Town’s life surrounding Bari's Basilica di San Nicola. Head down and say ciao to Italy’s southernmost slice of the Adriatic.
Good introductory cross-section in major cities. Good balance of scheduled vs. free time. Would like a little more emphasis on art--especially Uffizi Gallery and Pisan Camposanto--plus entry into St. Mark's/Doge's Palace and Duomo church (rather than some of the shopping stuff). A little too much commercial, too little history/art. (Some of guides under-informed, including one who said Galileo discovered the "two planets" around Jupiter!).
The Budapest to IstanbulTour through less visited countries in Europe was great! Romania was a highlight with beautiful scenery and great character. The opportunity to travel through more remote/ countryside destinations throughout Hungary Romania Bulgaria was wonderful. It would be difficult to do this trip by yourself.
G Adventures and Cinzia our CEO made traveling through Italy, easy, fun, with unforgettable memories. I highly recommend, and I plan to book another trip with G Adventures. Thank you Cinzia for making this trip AMAZING!
This trip was absolutely amazing! It has wonderful scenery and architecture. The history of these countries make you think about humanity and the resolve of people. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history and geography of the countries. The hotels were centrally located, clean and very comfortable. The extra excursions were fun! Best of all the people that were in our group were extremely friendly!
Hiking the Camino is a wonderful adventure. It was "hard" and beyond rewarding. I would do this trip again and even longer if G Adventures were to offer such a trip. THANK YOU!
Although described as a fast paced tour(which it was), it was a good introduction to visiting Portugal with many highlights as well as vising some lesser known parts. As someone who had not been to Portugal before and as it is so easy to get to from the UK, it was a taster for maybe visiting the country again and exploring other regions.
Hi there, I thought another day in Scotland would have been better. Maybe gone to Glasgow and then combined the last 2 days in the UK together. The last 2 days were a wee bit of a disappointment compared to the first part of the trip. Our TD was wonderful she is so knowledgeable and really knows her stuff.
Better than I'd expected. Some tricky hills on a heavy bike but on the whole a very good enjoyable trip with spectacular scenery on some days, a very good tour guide and some nice historical villages to visit.
On the whole, one trip I'd recommend..
Explore a surreal region of Italy that looks straight out of a postcard (only better) with this eight-day multi-active trip. The houses are painted in multi-coloured shades, the sea is brighter than the sky, and the sun beams down brightly – welcome to the Cinque Terre. This jewel of Europe changes with the light of the day and is best explored on foot, on a bike or on a kayak. On this trip, you’ll witness natural beauty on all three! Cycle past olive groves, hike to medieval monuments, kayak to sandy beaches and refuel your energy every afternoon with cocktails and carbs. This is living!
The trip was awesome! Got to stay for 2 nights in most of the places we went which was good as it felt more relaxed while we were on the trip, however you keep finding that it's never enough time in certain places, so it is a good taster for seeing different cities and figuring out places you would like to see more of later. We did all find that we got sick during the trip, because of the time spent together in the coach and the constant late nights and early mornings so watch out for that.
