Costa Rica Self-Drive Adventure

I spent 13 days in Costa Rica and did a self-drive everywhere from Liberia to San Jose while hitting places such as Rincon, Arenal, Monteverde, Samara Beach, and Dominical to name a few and I was able to do pretty much everything I wanted to do in Costa Rica thanks to Alex's brilliant trip planning! On top of that, the hotels that were booked for me were all top notch and there were plenty of opportunities to have lunch and dinner no matter where I stayed. If you plan to stay in Costa Rica anytime soon, I highly recommend having Alex to plan your trip with you!

My trip was wonderful -- I can't say enough good things about Mario and his team! I was travelling solo, and they worked with me to customize the itinerary to be exactly what I needed alongside a work trip I had right before. All of the guides and other staff members were very professional, kind, and prepared. Pickups were on time, and even mundane drives were filled with interesting information and good conversation.
Special shoutout to Alberto, who took me to Tortuguero and was so knowledgeable about wildlife (and whose keen eyes spotted some spider monkeys on the drive home, enabling us to stop and see them and some howler monkeys). A true highlight! But everyone was wonderful -- definitely recommend.

Everything was booked ahead of time, we didn't have to worry about hotels, transportation, or food (as some in our party were vegetarian)! Mario answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable about everything Costa Rica. While driving to our excursions, Mario went above and beyond by pointing out toucans that flew in front of us as well as stopping to observe the howler monkeys, buffalos, and pineapple crops. Mario also helped us customize our trip by adding an extra day to our tour. At the end of our trip, Mario gifted us some local coffee and key chains as well!We went to Costa Rica June 2021 and were very impressed with the country's covid regulations (we had to wear masks and wash our hands before entering any establishment) which made us feel very safe.Overall, we would recommend Greenway Tours to anyone and happily book with them in the future. Arenal Volcano Trip

This is an absolutely incredible tour -- our guide Jason was both very informative and very helpful. He explained the history of the Arenal volcano to us, we took a short hike a small part of the way up the mountain, and then went back down to look at wildlife in the rainforest. We saw spider monkeys, which Jason said are a pretty rare sight, and then a red curacao just walked out onto the trail in front of us! It was an incredible feeling to just be seeing all these animals spontaneously on a nature hike.
Speaking of hikes, it is important to be aware that this tour is somewhat physically demanding. There are no extreme parts, just some strenuous walking over very uneven ground, but I think the tour description could do a better job of emphasizing the challenge. At the same time, the tour is extremely convenient in terms of picking you up and dropping you off at your desired location, whether a hotel, hot springs, or somewhere else. Overall, I strongly recommend the Arenal Volcano trip to anyone who is into volcanoes and wildlife and plans to visit the Arenal area.

Alberto was great! He was friendly, and communicative, and provided door-to-door service. We were in CR celebrating my girlfriend's birthday. I was initially undecided about renting a vehicle. However, I am happy that I did not. The excursions were awesome, and Alberto helped take away potential stress. We were able to sit back, relax, and just have fun because he made us feel comfortable and safe. We plan to book with Greenway Tours for future travels to the country.
