This one day Cairo City tour will take you on a tour of the Egyptian Museum, the Citadel and Khan Khalili Bazaar.
At 8:00 am we pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza to start your full day tour visiting the Egyptian Museum of a
Antiquities. It displays the largest and most precious items of the Egyptian art. It exhibits a rare collection of over 250,000 genuine artifacts that date as far back as 5000 years, including an exclusive exhibit dedicated to the Tutankhamen - A collection of treasures, gold, and jewelry that were buried in his tomb for over 3,500 years before they were discovered in 1920 when his tomb was excavated.
Then we continue our day tour to The Citadel, comprised of a number of important monuments: The Mosque of Suleiman Pasha, The Alabaster Mosque, Joeh's Walls and Mohamed Ali Pasha Palace.
Lunch is included in between visits at a local restaurant. Beverages are not included.
Then continue your day-tour to Khan El Khalili Bazaar. The numerous shops in this district are known for trading fine brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, antiques and much more.
At the end of the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Then we will continue our day tour to The Citadel where we will visit The Alabaster Mosque Of Mohamed Ali Pasha. (1:30 hrs Time spent)

The Classic Egypt with Nile Cruise trip was, as expected, a fantastic holiday. Explore is my holiday tour company of choice and they did not disappoint once again (my 7th trip with them). The group dynamic for this trip was wonderful and we all had a really great time. Our tour guide (Mariam) was truly outstanding in every way and looked after us with great expertise. Pick Up
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo, Giza or Cairo International Airport then drive the downtown of Cairo where is The Egyptian Museum.
Visit the Egyptian Museum
You will start the tour by visiting the world- famous Egyptian Museum. The museum, spanning two floors, houses a vast 120,000 masterpieces from different eras and periods in Egyptian history. The most popular exhibits are that of treasures relating to the Pharaonic kings and queens, such as the child king Tutankhamen and the room of mummies. In the latter, visitors can learn more about mummification art in ancient Egypt.
Discover the Nile by Felucca " Optional "
After your visit to the Egyptian museum, you will have the chance to relax and float on a Felucca (small motor boat) on a trip along the longest river in the world. Here you can take time to absorb the panoramic views of the city in the summer breeze.
Stop for Lunch
Next we will take a break to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in a restaurant with wonderful views of the Nile. Drinks are not included.
Visit Pyramids & Sphinx
After lunch, we will cross the Nile and travel to Giza to the ancient pyramids, constructed in around 2560 BC. Renowned as one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world, it will be hard not to stare in amazement on your arrival at the pyramids and ask: ‘How were they built? And why?’ Don’t worry – all of our guides are qualified Egyptologists and will be happy to guide you and answer all of your questions. There will be the option at this point in the tour to go inside one of the three ancient pyramids.
After that we will walk down to the edge of the plateau to King Kafra Valley where you can take your first glimpse of the Great Sphinx and its temple. The Great Sphinx of Giza is a mythological creature, formed of a human head and the body of a lion which standing at over 20 meters high 73 metres long is a magnificent sight to behold.
Shopping
Our final stop of about one hour will be for shopping. Here you will have the chance to buy authentic and traditional Egyptian souvenirs and gifts produced by local craftspeople. We will spend time at the Papyrus Institute, where you will be given a demonstration on how this famous paper is made and where you will also have the chance to purchase papyrus art. We will also visit a perfume shop, where you can shop for Arabian scents and beautifully decorated perfume bottles.
Drive Back
At the end of the day our guide will transfer you back to your hotel or to the airport to catch your flight.
We had a fantastic trip to Egypt. I am a single mum with a 10 and 12 year old. We were in a very small group with just one other family and we had a brilliant time. Mohammed, the group leader was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and fun and made everything run smoothly, even the bits that didn’t (don’t expect the train to be on time, however flashy the new station). He was fantastic with the kids and generous with his experience of all aspects of Egyptian life.
The trip is pretty full on but there is downtime built in. We love Egypt and will definitely go back. We’ll also definitely do another holiday with explore. For me, being on my own with the kids, the group meant I got some downtime and everything being so well organised meant I felt like I got a holiday as well! As an added bonus it was no more expensive to have two rooms at the hotels!

Get ready for a fantastic day exploring the incredible ancient city of Petra! You'll start with a guided walk through the stunning Siq canyon to the famous Treasury, and then you'll have free time to explore more sites like the Monastery at your own pace. Later, it's off to the spectacular desert scenery of Wadi Rum! You'll spend the night in a comfy Bedouin camp under the stars, enjoying a traditional dinner. Fancy a camel ride or some stargazing? Those are options too! The next morning kicks off with a thrilling jeep safari through Wadi Rum's amazing landscapes. Then, you'll head north to the Dead Sea for an overnight stay. You'll have plenty of time to experience that amazing floating sensation and maybe even try the therapeutic mud. Leaving the Dead Sea behind, you'll fly from Amman to Cairo to start the Egyptian leg of your journey (we'll handle the transfers, but the flight cost is not included). Get ready to be amazed, because once in Egypt, your expert Egyptologist guide takes you to some truly iconic sights – the incredible Great Pyramids and the mysterious Sphinx watching over the Giza plateau! It's a real 'pinch me' moment. You'll even get to refuel with a delicious and authentic Koshary lunch, a bustling plate of Egyptian comfort food, before hopping on the overnight train heading south. The train journey itself is an experience, travelling through the night (you can upgrade to the sleeper train for extra comfort). Waking up refreshed, you'll arrive in Aswan, a relaxed city on the Nile. Here, you'll take a boat trip out to the stunningly relocated Philae Temple, dedicated to Isis, on its island home. There's an unforgettable optional trip to see the colossal temples of Abu Simbel, built by Ramses II and saved from the rising waters of Lake Nasser – seeing them at sunrise is magical. Afterwards, it’s time to slow the pace right down as you board a traditional Nile felucca. Spend the afternoon peacefully sailing down the Nile, watching rural life unfold on the banks. Your Nubian crew will sail the boat, cook your meals, and maybe even entertain you with some local songs! You'll sleep on the deck under the stars (mattresses and blankets provided – it's basic but brilliant, though a hotel upgrade is possible if you prefer comfort!). After a final breakfast on the felucca, you'll say goodbye to the crew and travel north towards Luxor, often called the world's greatest open-air museum. On the way, you'll stop at the remarkably well-preserved Edfu Temple. Once in Luxor, you might want to see the grand Luxor Temple, beautifully lit up in the evening. The next day brings more wonders with a fascinating tour of Luxor's West Bank. You'll delve into the tombs of Pharaohs in the Valley of the Kings, marvel at the unique terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and see the giant Colossi of Memnon. For a truly breathtaking perspective, an optional hot air balloon ride at sunrise over the West Bank is highly recommended! There might also be a chance to explore the vast Karnak Temple complex later on. Then it's time for the overnight train journey back to Cairo. Once there, you'll have a full day to explore this bustling capital. You can visit the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren & Mykerinos. Next is the Valley Temple where you can get a close-up look at the Sphinx - a huge funeral complex guarded by the legendary lion body with the face of king Chephren.
Then visiting the Old Cairo that known as Christian Coptic Cairo which is among the most important locations visited by the Holy Family where the spiritual impact of their presence is sill felt.
