I have been dreaming of traveling to Turkey for a long time. I had initially booked this tour in 2020 and clearly it had to be cancelled. Five years later, my expectations were exceeded by this tour. Very organized. The time was well used to see major sites and to get a feel for the history and daily life. The tour was responsive to our request to include some outdoor, active activities in addition to sightseeing. The local guide was very good, knowledgeable and genial. Importantly, he was a good driver. The hotels were well selected, except for the one in Cluj which was a bit out of the center.
We had a very happy tour group of 8, ranging from about 63 to 70 years. The trails were challenging and technical and very beautiful. Our guide Albi B. was amazing. Alibi’s command of English was very impressive and he was easily able to communicate with our group. His knowledge of history and local folklore kept us very informed and entertained. The transfer vehicles were always on time. The local food was farm to table- very fresh and healthy. We had 3 vegetarians in our group and they seemed quite satisfied with their meals. The accommodations were quaint and rustic, as expected, and we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. The tour was a unique way to explore the Albanian alps.
