Although Nepal is famous for its mountains and trekking routes, few realize that the country is brimming with historic locations worth exploring and nature reserves worth discovering. Join us on this guided, eight-day trip to discover Nepal in all its glory.
Your journey starts from Kathmandu, where you will discover centuries-old monuments and durbar squares brimming with ornate carvings and stunning architecture. Head for Nagarkot, a popular hill station among the locals in the valley to enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas. Then drive to Chitwan National Park via Daman and discover one of Asia's most famous wildlife reserve.
Enjoy a stopover in Bandipur, a scenic village atop a hill, on your way back to Kathmandu from Chitwan. Please scroll down to the itinerary section for more details.
This is a combination trip of our two most popular day trips. We will take you for an exciting day of whitewater rafting on the Trisuli river, followed by a night at our riverside beach camp and then some awesome canyoning the following day. The ultimate adventure and a great weekend escape from Kathmandu!
The Trisuli river area is the ideal spot for anyone wanting to get a taste of whitewater rafting and canyoning in Nepal. This trip is also perfect for those who are looking for a stopover between Kathmandu and Pokhara or just wanting for a weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu city.
The 'Annapurna Sanctuary trek' takes you into a hidden bowl in the heart of the Annapurna range, where you are surrounded by a spectacular panorama of towering peaks, ten of which are over 6,000m. One of the more popular Annapurna treks, this trek takes you as far as Annapurna Base Camp at 4,095m. We reach the sanctuary after a beautiful and varied trek through the Himalayan foothills, passing through small villages, mixed forests and terraced farmland. En-route we enjoy great mountain views at sunrise from Poon Hill. An excellent introduction to Nepal and trekking in Annapurnas.
You begin your tour in Kathmandu where you'll have a free day to explore the sights and sounds of the capital at your leisure. From Kathmandu you have a scenic road journey to Pokhara where your trek begins from nearby Naya Pul. Staying in lodges throughout, you will get to meet and talk with other trekkers and guides each evening, and discuss the places you've visited, and the route ahead, as well as making a contribution to the local economy.
Starting in the foothills, immediately north of Pokhara you start the trek by climbing to Ghorepani, where you can enjoy beautiful sunrise views of the Annapurna range from Poon Hill. From Ghorepani you cross several valleys and then ascend along the beautiful Modi Khola valley. Deep Rhododendron forests, with sprinklings of a whole range of orchids, and bamboo forests replete with chattering monkeys, are a dominant feature of this trek.
As you walk further up into the centre of the Annapurna Himal, you will visit Machhapuchhare Base Camp followed by Annapurna Base Camp itself. As you enter the Annapurna Sanctuary (a mountain ringed amphitheatre of immense proportions), you will be rewarded with spectacular views of 10 snow-capped peaks above 6,000m. The peaks include: Fang, Glacier Dome, Homunculi, Annapurna, Annapurna South, Annapurna 1, Annapurna 3 and Machhapuchhare. All of these, combined with the impressive backdrop of the south face of Annapurna 1 (8,090m) make this trek a truly unique and unforgettable experience. After some time exploring the Sanctuary, you retrace your steps for a couple of days to leave, before trekking back towards Pokhara, stopping along the way at the hot springs near Jhinnadunda.
You have a free day in Pokhara which we leave to give you time to relax in this peaceful lakeside town, and to allow for any delays on the trek itself. From Pokhara you travel by road back to Kathmandu and have a little free time to do some last minute shopping or a little more sightseeing around the city and surrounding valley.
Extensions are available to visit Chitwan or Bardia National Parks, try some white-water rafting or perhaps even a home stay in a nearby Newari village.

A day tour of Kathmandu covers the important monuments of Kathmandu Valley within one day. After having breakfast in a hotel we visit the famous temples of Kathmandu like Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, Patan Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Kathmandu's largest and most impressive Durbar square.
Below please find some brief insights about some of the monuments and squares that we will visit:
Pashupatinath Temple:
Pashupatinath temple is one of the holiest temple of Lord Shiva, according to the Hindu religion. Situated on side of lush green natural forest the temple is built in pagoda style with gilded roof and richly carved silver doors. The holy river Bagmati flows aside the Temple. Pashupatinath Temple is mostly visited on Mondays where the temple is crowded by its devotees.
Swayambhunath Temple:
Syambhunath Temple can be seen from different parts of Kathmandu Valley as it lies on the top of a hill West of the City. Swayambhunath Temple is the most popular and instantly recognisable symbols of Nepal, a 2000 years old Buddhist shrine. We can also visit the Saraswati (goddess of Study) Temple which is near of Swayambhunath Temple. We can see many monkeys on our way to Swayambhunath Temple, hence its other name, Monkey Temple.
Patan Durbar Square
Patan is a small city that touches Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. The mostly visited place of Patan is Patan Durbar square which constitutes numerous temples within a small area. The entire east side of the Durbar square is dominated by the ancient royal palace that were used to be ruled by the Malla Dynesty. Patan is also known as the city of fine arts which consists of remarkable monuments like Krishna Temple, Banglamukhi Temple, Patan Museum and many others.
Kathmandu Durbar Square:
Kathmandu Durbar Square is the natural place to begin our sightseeing. The old royal palace, running along the eastern edge of the square, takes up more space than all the other monuments here combined. Kumari Chock, home of Katmandu's "Living goddess", overlooks the square from the south. The square itself is squeezed by the palace into two parts: the Southern part with Kasthamandap, the ancient building that probably gave Kathmandu its name, and the Northern part, taken up by various processions of statues and temples. The building here is the greatest achievement of the Malla dynasty, resulting from the great rivalry between the three palaces of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur.
Kathmandu Valley was once divided among the children of Yaksya Malla. For visitors today, and for the Nepalese, it was serendipitous that they, and later their off springs, began an artistic warfare trying to outdo each other in splendid contributions. Kings copied everything their neighbors built in an even grander style. Today, all three Durbar squares are visited by thousands of people daily. Unfortunately the recent earthquake in Nepal destroyed some of the temples, but the squares are still worth visiting.
We look forward to giving you a wonderful day of sightseeing in Kathmandu.
Explore the beauty of the Langtang region of Nepal on a 6-day Langtang Valley trekking tour. The Langtang Valley Trek is probably the nearest trekking trail in Kathmandu. The journey takes you to Langtang National Park which boasts one of the most breathtaking views of the pristine countryside and high alpine meadows. The optional hike to Kyanjin Ri or Tsergo Ri offers 360-degree views of the mountain range such as Dorje Lakpa (6,990 m), Langtang Ri (6,370 m) and Langtang Lirung (7,245 m).
Langtang trek is the perfect option for any enthusiastic trekker with a limited time and budget, looking for an easy trekking route. The total distance of Langtang Valley Trek up to Kyanjin Gompa is around 78km from Kathmandu which will finish in 6 days. If travelers want to explore more diversity and extend their trip, there are other higher altitude trekking routes from Langtang Valley such as the Tamanag Heritage Trail or Langtang Gosaikunda Holy Lake trek.

However, the stunning scenery that can be observed along the paths makes it worthwhile. The Lower Dolpo Trek can be challenging for inexperienced trekkers due to its high terrain. The breathtaking views of Dhaulagiri and Kanjirowa give the lower Dolpo circuit trek even more appeal.
