Really well organised trip with reasonable quality accommodation. The drakensburg walks were great with super knowledgeable guides. Overall a really good trip to an amazing location.
Our 15 day Explore trekking holiday through southern Madagascar was everything we hoped for and more. The insights into Malagasy life, culture, history, landscapes and wildlife we gained via the exceptional commentary and organizational skills of our guide Armand, made the trip so enjoyable. We ticked every box without effort seeing nearly every species of lemur, chameleon, gecko, snake and bird across many National Parks.
The 4 day hike in Andingitra National Park including the summit hike to Peak Boby was a highlight, and we all appreciated the information, assistance and singing from the local porters and guides. In addition, the group was invited into a local school and a local home which was totally unexpected but very special. Once at Ifaty, the Spiny Forest with its cacti and giant Baobabs was well worth the visit and we were grateful to our driver for getting us there in time for a tour and spectacular sunset.
Unfortunately our stay in Ifaty was cut short by a day due to flight unavailability but Explore arranged additional activities in Tana. Of course our ‘Super-guide’ Armand made the best of this change and allowed people some flexibility with what they chose to do.
The accommodations throughout the 15 days were well selected with a mix of styles and features but all with the necessary comforts and services (without going over the top). The staff were always very happy and friendly and willing to cater for any special requests of individuals or the group. The meals for us omnivores were ample and varied enough and always safely prepared. Access to more interesting vegetarian dishes was a little less more tricky but at the end of the day no one went hungry.
All-in-all our tour of Madagascar was amazing and its people were the most hardworking, ingenious and happy people ever, despite the ‘poverty’. Our guide Armand (and our skillful driver and navigator-of-potholes) plus all the other local guides and porters, allowed us to learn so much about this unique country. They all helped make our trip an experience we can’t wait to share and promote to others. Madagascar is certainly a ‘country less traveled’, particularly by Australians (we didn’t meet any Aussies in 4+ weeks). “Come on Aussie” - it’s right next door.
Thank you Armand - the best guide ever, and thank you Madagascar - may you preserve and expand your native forests and continue to protect your precious wildlife.
Veloma Madagascar!!
Trip overall was terrific. Changes that could be made to future safaris. Game drives should only go out early morning, return to camp by 11am. 2nd game drive should start about 3pm until sunset. Rest at camp from 11am to 3pm. Boxed lunches should be deleted as they were well below standard & not terrible. Rift Valley Photographic Lodge was below standard & one night is plenty. The road in & out of the Lodge was absolutely terrible. My room had a terrible smell from shower drain & I was moved. The next room had no hot water until I chased it up. Swimming pools were all empty. Cut out long village walk as too hot & drive onto next lodge. You need at least 2 full days in the fantastic Ambroseli park. Masai Mara should be 2 full days experience & 2 full days in Ngorongoro Crater. Completely drop day 8 cultural experience etc from itinerary. We were all charged USD20 to visit Masia village but found out later Masai visit was free in initerary. The jeep in Kenya was old & very uncomfortable. The jeep in Tanzania was modern, a good ride & very uncomfortable. That part of the tour needs to be looked due to jeep travelling time.

Moroccan Dream perfectly blends history, culture and adventure.
Start off with the bustling markets of Marrakesh and discover the UNESCO World Heritage of charming Essaouira. Watch the ocean unfold in Casablanca before you soak in the blue streets of Chefchaouen. Discover the impressive imperial cities of Fes and the capital, Rabat. Have a tagine under bright stars whilst surrounded by Saharan sand dunes. Topple all travel experiences with 2 adventure-filled days in the desert.
Well organized trekking tour, excellent value for money! Plenty of delicious food, knowledgeable and attending guide. Accommodations were also ok. Requires good physical condition. Tipping is expected basically everywhere so remember to add that on your travel budget.
The earthy scent of saffron, the kaleidoscope of colourful carpets, mountains, mosques, mayhem - this is Morocco. Let us guide you through the chaos of the medinas, bustling squares and sprawling palaces, getting you under the skin in ways you just couldn't manage alone. From the magical mayhem of Marrakesh through to iconic Casablanca and Rabat, we'll then head into the desert to stay with some Berber people and enjoy dinner in the royal tent.
Our trip to Egypt with World Expeditions was excellent. We had two guides, one for Cairo and one for the Nile and Aswan. Both had tertiary qualifications in Egyptian history and were passionate about it. It is an amazing country a nd a great, well run tour.
They did an amazing job, took care of my every need, and got me up the mountain in style. Big shout out to my guide Rama, my chef Kuruwa, and my porters Muhammad Ali, Sariri, Rezwan (Numba D), Moyo, and Salim.
I NEVER in a million years thought I would be able to make it to the Peak. This was our FIRST hiking trip of any kind and we thought we'd "give it a try".... the tour company team were FANTASTIC ! Rama and his team checked in with us the day before to run us past a day by day itinerary, ensure we had all the necessary equipment (we didn't), and obtained what was missing. Throughout our hike and especially making up the Peak, he kept checking our physical conditions and mental motivation. On the ascent day, he made sure we kept busy and distracted to forget how incredibly hard it was climbing that last leg of the route... and it worked! We reached UHURU Peak and the feeling is incredible !! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!

The accommodations were variable, always clean and with hot water but some places were tired and in need of updating. Air conditioning was a must as it was hot and humid, however most were noisy and not good for a light sleeper.
The staff were always helpful and friendly.
Food in the hotels and restaurants was plentiful and there was always fish or chicken for those less adventurous, accompanied by mountains of rice or pasta.
We were able to meet the locals, often visiting their homes, and learn about their cultures and beliefs. Also how they lived off the land and produced most of the food they need for the villages and to sell at the market stalls. We were able to try our hand at weaving, dying cloth and making garments. All extremely interesting and an education.
We experienced Kayaking, canoeing, climbing through the tree canopies in the forest along rope bridges plus lots of other activities. All under the guidance and care of our very informative tour guide Oscar and driver Prince.
Our tours through the castles was quite daunting, learning how the slave trade treated people was shocking.
All in all our holiday was an exceptional experience, if not quite exhausting. We were disappointed with the lack of wildlife but was not through lack of exciting safari drives trying to find the animals, with so much else going on our cameras were never idol.

Although I booked this trip with little or no expectations, I have to state from the start that this was a tough trek for me and my wife.
I should state here that the satisfaction of reaching the peak, individually and part of the group of fifteen that set off from basecamp, with an excellent leader and assistants, surpasses all the challenges that we encountered during the week.
So some of my observations on the itinerary. The distances and elevations documented felt to me underestimated, even though they may have been accurate, the walking day was longer and more challenging than in the itinerary. I should add that the difficulty was maybe by design to ready you for the assault on the Toubkal summit.
Some of the guest houses are very basic, so if you travel as a couple, don't expect to be accommodated together at night.
The camping at basecamp was surprisingly comfortable, and the food prepared by the chef and his team was excellent throughout the trip. However, you must prepare yourself for the prospect of a communal hole in the ground for daily ablutions.
Overall, the trip is definitely one I will never forget, and as I said above, the satisfaction gained from achieving the summit, and looking out over the vast Atlas range, was breathtaking. Not to be underestimate, but if your leaders and camaraderie of the group is the same as ours, Toubkal summit will live long in the memory.
