We have booked the 3 day tour including the Sacred Valley, short Inca Trail and Machu Picchu and enjoyed it very much! Our guide (Ronald) was very knowledgeable and a good company. They have also chosen very good accommodation and restaurants for us.
Good trek, great guides, too many people, and limited options I had a good time on this trek and greatly enjoyed the guides that were provided, but was disappointed with how many people were in our group and felt that additional opportunities could have been offered. Our group of 10 people was bound to have various levels of fitness, and were forced to hike at the pace of our slowest member which created some tension during the hike. Having an additional guide for this many people would have been greatly beneficial to allow for different paces. Additionally, I noticed that there were many opportunities offered to other trekkers (refugio lodging and massages) that we were unable to take advantage of.
The Naturally Costa Rica tour An excellent tour of the mountains, the Central Valley, and the Pacific coast. Before we arrived, when the kind organiser Oldemar learnt that we were going to arrive one day early, he generously arranged for a free half-day tour of San Jose city. We then started the main tour, visited the three main volcanoes Poas, Irazu and Arenal (but not the summit of Arenal - access is forbidden), and did many other things, including zip-lining, white-water rafting, observing many exotic animals and staying in the famous Tortuguero National Park. The organisation and the accommodations were very good. The only very minor criticisms that I have is that the San Jose hotel (the Barcelo) is somewhat isolated, and that the visit to the Irazu volcano occurred quite late, just as the afternoon clouds were starting to close in.
