Real traveler feedback from Explorer tours across North Africa

While $1300 sounds great, by the time you add the flights and all the excursions, which you have to because otherwise you're on your own with no guidance from anyone in the hotels - totally rude -- it really adds up. I was disappointed.

Well planned

The entire trip was well planned. The only change I would recommend is to delete the sleeper train from the itinerary. It was not comfortable, and my companion got very sick with the motion of the train.

We saw a good sample of Moroccan life in the week that we had. The hotels were good, not luxurious, but comfortable. The guide explained things clearly. The bus driver was very competent. One local guide moved too quickly for most of our group during a tour of a market. Most would have liked to look at some of the things for sale. Another local was hired just to keep track of us and tell us when to turn because the speaking guide was so far in front of the main group. The Berber tea pouring ceremony was interesting.

Nothing

We covered a lot of ground and saw very interesting scenes. We learned about the history and customs of the locals that we would have missed if we hadn’t gone on the tour. I am ALWAYS sitting in close proximity to a talkative person. Please have the tour guide make SEVERAL announcements that it’s impolite to speak at the same time when the tour guide is talking. There’s people who have hearing problems or trouble trying to listen when two people are speaking at the same time. I am grateful we didn’t have to rotate our seats in the bus. I moved away from the talkative people. I never understood why people would pay a great deal of money and not listen to the tour guide or at the very least be polite and cognizant of others who do want to listen.
