Short but sweet! I loved Namibia. Expect breathtaking desert views and wonderful people. My heart is full, and I’m very glad I got to discover a new country and learn more about its culture and history. You will experience longer drives to reach the different destinations maybe for me the only downside of the trip. But if you want to see a lot of the country in a short period of time, it’s probably the only way.
I really enjoyed this trip for it's impressive landscapes, big skies, wildlife and food. We covered a lot of ground - just under 3,000km - but saw so much. The accommodation was good and got increasingly better as the trip progressed. The dunes at Sossusvlei are stunning and running down them was great fun. I tried lots of new food including oryx and eland and it was all very tasty. The seal colony was bigger than I realised. There were so many young that were clearly just minutes old and the noise of it all was very unexpected. Our tour leader, Kastro, was exceptional providing us with the right amount of information, keeping us in check and dealing with an unforeseen problem with the truck without any impact on us and all with a fabulous sense of humour. I loved our picnic stops in the middle of nowhere, the incredible night skies, the jackal puppies and the small group size. Definitely a trip that I would recommend.
I have done a lot of travel and this was honestly the best trip I've ever been on. Every day was full of adventure, beautiful sceneries and unreal experiences. I wasn't sure what to expect going into this trip and only booked it for something different to do, however Africa has turned into my favourite place! I am already planning to go back and do other Contikis there next year.
Just returned from an incredible cycling tour of Namibia — truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! 🚴♀️ The landscapes were stunning, the wildlife unforgettable, and the people made it even more special. Huge thanks to Gabriel, our fantastic tour leader, for his deep knowledge of the country and fascinating insights; Mr. Happy, our wonderful cook, for keeping us so well-fed and cheerful; and Mad Max, our skilled and spirited driver, for making every journey safe. The absolute highlight? Cycling through a reserve park and getting amazingly close to a rhino mum and her calf — a magical moment I’ll never forget. I’d highly recommend this tour to all nature and adventure lovers — Namibia is such a unique and special place. Just be prepared for a few nights of camping and plenty of early starts to beat the heat — it’s all part of the experience!
This trip was such a good blend of the tourist highlights and local culture. I really liked the bushmen activity...it was so eye opening and a beautiful experience. Deadvlei was also incredible to see.. there is truly nothing like it. Every day we saw something new...Namibia is just so diverse with all it has to offer.
I loved this trip and I loved Namibia. Our guide Sheona was excellent and made our experience so much better. We got upgraded at a couple of the lodges which was very fun - but all the lodges were excellent. We ate well. It’s a go go go trip. I would recommend doing the Sandwich Harbour tour. I would also recommend finding out all your optional game drive choices before deciding which one(s) you’re going to do. I found the cheetah conservatory a bit off putting although we did learn some good information about conservation there. There were unforgettable moments on this trip and Namibia will always be special to me.
