Tongariro National Park Tours in Spring

New Zealand and its people were spectacular, as was our trip. We felt well taken care of by our operators. They were very responsive to inquiries before and during the trip. Kudos for their counsel prior to the trip, advising us to spend time exploring areas like The Catlins. Overall, our expectations were exceeded. Highlights for us were private or small tours (Rotorua, Stewart Island, Wanaka) on which we could really engage with our guides and learn. We appreciated the variety of experiences – thrills, nature, hikes, boats, private flights. We especially liked the times when we had solitude rather than big crowds of tourists.

This was an amazing trip to see the highlights of new Zealand. It is full on with long driving days staying in a different hotel every 1-2 days. The walks are mostly short but there a few days of longer walks but these are optional (just don’t miss Hooker valley ) Unfortunately due to the weather we weren’t able to do Tongariro alpine crossing but instead walked to waterfall and lakes which was great

This trip covers a lot of ground, with a packed itinerary and with plenty of walking in beautiful scenery. The weather was very kind to us - we even saw Milford Sound with clear blue skies!

It’s a very full an encompassing trip. It covers a great deal and involves a lot of hiking, which is really the only way to truly see and appreciate this spectacular country.

I had the best customized travel trip in my life thanks to Geoff and Libby in Christchurch. They were able to accommodate all of my South Island travel goals and to adjust my plans when needed. They made travel across a large area in a short timeframe easy and enjoyable There were two things I really enjoyed. First was the bucket list adventure of a Heli-hike at Mount Cook onto the Tasman Glacier. The second was a personal tour in Christchurch by Geoff which allowed me to see many unique local venues that tourists typically do not visit

This was an excellent trip to genuinely experience a great variety of tracks in NZ. We were able to tick off 4 of 9 of the Great Walks. Two of them, Tongariro Northern Circuit & Abel Tasman, we had a longer closer look at. Those & the Siberia Valley at Mt Aspiring NP will be enduring memories. So many activities everyday with very little down time. A fair amount of time spent in the van getting from place to place but unavoidable. Flights from Wellington to Nelson by a small Cessna, helicopter ride into the Siberia Valley & numerous water taxis helped conserve our time. All in all a great trip!
