Best trip ever!

My wife and I just returned from an amazing 11-day trip to Costa Rica. Yuliana helped us to put together a private tour designed specifically for us. No amount of time and effort would have let us do it ourselves. We were most interested in the landscape and animals, and our private driver was able to take us to fabulous sights. We stayed in unusual accommodations including a tree house in the jungle and a villa at the Arenal volcano. We recommend Yuliana and her agency very highly and also our wonderful guide and driver, Roy.

13-days in Costa Rica with rental car

I spent 13 days in Costa Rica and did a self-drive everywhere from Liberia to San Jose while hitting places such as Rincon, Arenal, Monteverde, Samara Beach, and Dominical to name a few and I was able to do pretty much everything I wanted to do in Costa Rica thanks to Alex's brilliant trip planning! On top of that, the hotels that were booked for me were all top notch and there were plenty of opportunities to have lunch and dinner no matter where I stayed. If you plan to stay in Costa Rica anytime soon, I highly recommend having Alex to plan your trip with you!

Paradise!

From start to finish working with Olman was an absolute pleasure. His extensive knowledge of Costa Rica coupled with his lovely demeanor and exquisite attention to detail all aided in us having an incredible trip. And then he provided lovely accommodation options and day trip options. After we confirmed our choices he arranged everything and all we had to do was just show up. What a joy! We fell in love with beautiful Costa Rica and miss it already!

Loved this one..

This country is so diverse and exodus shows you that from the start! We started on the Caribbean side at Tortuguero and basically got soaked the whole 3 days we were there, it rained and it rained but our group got on with it with a smile. That area would have been wonderful if the weather hadn't been against us but it was what it was! We still suffered a bit of bad weather at Arenal and i never got to see the volcano as the cloud was on top of it all the time, the walk was lovely up to it though and the landscape is beautiful. The weather started to improve as we travelled over to the pacific side , the birds and the wildlife are abundant , we saw that many sloths on this trip we stopped taking pictures of them ha There are some long drives in this trip but never more than a couple of hours on the road without stopping, lots of views to look at and of course we stopped if the driver or guide saw anything interesting to see as well, (a couple of macaw's were spotted and we pulled over to get some great photos) The wildlife is all around you if you take the time to look, the leaf cutter ants and the ant highways through the forest floor , the frogs , the sloths... so much to see! Whilst you don't have to be a fitness fanatic for this trip , i would suggest that you are able to walk long distances and tackle some steep slopes. You can always sit by the pool if you don't want to go on the hikes but you would miss out on the whole point of the holiday if that is what you aim to do. Exodus pull it out the bag every time with the accommodation , all the rooms were lovely and well chosen , its one of the reasons i have booked with Exodus 4 times now.

Fabolous trip thanks to Olman

The trip Olman planned way exceeded our expectations and he went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and requirements. Every single trip and transfer went smoothly, every hotel fitted our needs exactly and he planned a fun and fascinating variety of trips for our family. I can't recommend Olman enough if you're planning a trip to Costa Rica. We'd approached several other travel agents and they didn't seem to have the in-depth local knowledge or flexibility required to put together a trip that suited our needs, wants, and budgetary requirements so well. What a fabulous trip, lifelong memories were made!

Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Monteverde means “Green Mountain” which means you won’t be surprised when you see the luscious green vegetation sprawling across the mountains in this area. It first started to become popular after National Geographic featured some of the rare and beautiful Birds of Paradise that are endemic to Central America and can be found in abundance in this area.

Tour Highlights

  • Canopy tours: While you can walk around on the forest ground, why not experience the forest life by walking across a series of suspension bridges. It’s very safe allows you to get high enough to take some really incredible photos. If you’re really looking for the best views then you can always go higher up and zip line across the tops of the trees.
  • Cloud Forest: Just over 10,000 hectares of forest waits for you here in one of the country's most famous reserves. It’s most known for its hundreds of different types of orchids, thousands of birds, monkeys, insects, and even some jungle cats. For animal lovers, this is a great place.
  • Night tours: While by day the forest is vibrant and beautiful, by night it’s transformed completely! You’ll hear a range of sounds from the many nocturnal creatures that own the night. From spiders, to bugs, bats, and more. For those scared of the dark, don’t forget to take an extra flashlight.

Travel Tips

  • While there are plenty of hotels nearby Monteverde, the whole area is a forest full of action so what better way to experience it than camping out? You can camp at different places ranging from basic to luxury.
  • The summer months (December to April) are one of the most popular times to go. However, if you want to avoid crowds, the shoulder season from May to July and November is also a good time to visit.
  • Taking the bus is one of the easiest and most affordable options which you can get from San Jose.
