Lisbon Tours and Trips
Instantly recognizable by its classic blue-tiled buildings, iconic yellow tram, and winding cobblestone streets, Lisbon inspires a nostalgic melancholy, called saudade by local Portuguese. A trip to Lisbon lingers on long after returning home—every sip of wine, every morsel of seafood dinner, and the haunting fado music. Besides soaking in the sun at the Cascais beaches or shopping at the Feira da Ladra flea market, Lisbon also makes a great jumping-off point for a wider Portugal trip. Visitors can travel back centuries into Portuguese history with a glass of wine on a multi-day tour to Porto or take on a road trip to beachy Faro or romantic Sintra. Lisbon gives travelers all kinds of opportunities. Find your Lisbon tour below.

This was a very well laid out trip to Spain and Portugal. Not only did we get to see the highlights from each of the cities, but we also had free time to explore places of personal interest. I specifically enjoyed all the Catholic Churches that we visited. We also were exposed to a variety of fine arts events, with music, art museums and flamenco dancing. The hotels were modern and clean, the bus and driver were exceptional and our tour director was very organized and knowledgeable.
The itinerary was full of great sights and history of the region. Excellent local food and wine to match the region. The local tour guides were very knowledgeable. It’s a lot to see in nine days so it was very fast paced.
Great tour. Highlights were the caves of the Algarve. Lunch on top of the mountain. The great lunch at the winery. The visit to the fish market. The food n wine. Overall a great trip!
This is a wonderful tour. It does live up to its name. There is a constant barrage of opportunities to try different food and wines. In between all that is the ambiance of old world architecture, history, and art. The hotels are extremely good. The motor coach is very comfortable. The main roads are excellent, and the drives are relatively short. Our guide, Jose, was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and entertaining. It is a very active tour. There is a lot of walking; much on cobblestone streets with steps and inclines. There is not a lot of free time, except for Salamanca.
We absolutely loved the tour with Back-roads, our guide Patrizia and driver Ilidio were fabulous, very accommodating and knowledgeable. We visited beautiful towns and learned about the history and culture of Portugal. The hotels were great and dinning amazing, with a good balance of organised and free time. We had a wonderful group of people on our tour and Patrizia brought us all together as a team. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Back-Roads, and will use them again in the future.
Overall it was a great trip. All the hotels that we stayed at were very good. Lagos was definitely our favorite. The Cork factory, Gin distillery, and wine tour were very good. The walking tours were very informative. Enjoyed the history and culture.
