If you’re drawn to wild, untamed landscapes and crave a sense of solitude, the Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek invites you to one of Nepal’s most remote and awe-inspiring frontiers. Ideal for experienced adventurers and explorers, this trek offers a rare chance to get up close to the world’s third highest peak while delving deep into the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area.
Over the course of your journey, traverse a mosaic of jungles, alpine forests, and high-altitude meadows, encountering vibrant rhododendrons, ancient monasteries, and the unique cultures of the Rai and Limbu communities. The trek’s Tibetan Buddhist heritage and pristine ecosystems set it apart from more frequented Himalayan routes.
Arriving at Kanchenjunga Base Camp, you’re rewarded with vistas that captivate the senses and soul. The region’s remoteness means you’ll enjoy the tranquility and authenticity that many trekkers seek but rarely find.
A signature feature of this trekking tour is its immersion in untouched wilderness and culture, making it the perfect trip for those seeking a profound, off-the-beaten-path Himalayan adventure.

Seeking a remote Himalayan adventure that will test your stamina and reward you with raw natural beauty? The Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek is made for experienced travelers and young adults eager for a challenge far from the well-trodden paths. This strenuous trekking tour journeys through the wild, little-explored eastern region of Nepal, home to diverse ethnic communities like the Sherpa, Limbu, Rai, and Tamang.
The trek covers both the south and north base camps of Mt. Kanchenjunga, the world’s third-highest peak. Along the way, you’ll traverse vibrant valleys, terraced farmlands, jungles of rhododendron and birch, shimmering waterfalls, and ancient glaciers. Culture seekers will relish visits to Buddhist monasteries such as Ramtang and Oktang, while wildlife enthusiasts may spot elusive creatures like the red panda or even the snow leopard.
This tour requires a good level of fitness, with long, physically demanding days, but the sense of discovery and serenity is unmatched. The region is protected within the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area—a joint effort by the World Wildlife Fund and the Nepali government—ensuring a pristine trekking environment.
The USP of this trip is its authentic, off-the-beaten-track adventure through one of Nepal’s most untouched and culturally rich corners, where every day brings a new vista and a deeper understanding of Himalayan life.

Join us on 24-day trek that takes on a journey to the foothills of one of the tallest mountains on earth. Geographically located on the eastern border of Nepal, Kangchenjunga stands at the height of 8,585 meters above sea level and is renowned as the third highest mountain in the world. Spiritually, it is believed to be the abode of the gods who bestow prosperity upon mankind.
Starting with a pickup on arrival in Kathmandu, you will travel by air and land to Mithung, the starting point of the trek. From there you will trek through terraced fields, forests and steep hills to reach Khambachen (4099 m), where you will spend a day acclimatizing.
Your journey from Khambachen takes you past the moraines of the Kanchenjunga Glacier to reach Lhonak (4785 m) on Day 13. Enjoy magnificent views of Mount Kangchenjunga and 15 other peaks in the Himalayas from Pang Pema, located at an altitude of 5160 m.
The sixteenth day of this trek involves crossing the passes of Sinion La (4460 m), Mirgin La (4480 m) and Sinelapcha La (4646 m). Reach Oktang Base Camp the next day. Time to return to Kathmandu and prepare for departure. Continue your journey downhill to Medibung and drive to Ilam. Catch the flight to Kathmandu either from Bhadrapur or Biratnagar.
Although far less crowded than Everest Base Camp trail and Annapurna Circuit, Kanchenjunga Circuit is equally beautiful and allows ample opportunities to travellers to see the mighty Himalayas. Book with us and grab the opportunity to see close-up views the enchanting Himalayas while travelling through a trail less trodden.
