Everest Base Camp trek Adventure Trips

Amazing guides & team, couldn’t have done it without any of them. They all go out of their way to help you - we stopped at the Memorial Stones for a picnic lunch and one of the team had carried a huge flask of hot lemon up there for us to drink!! We preferred the camping to the tea houses as the views from the tents were spectacular and the campsites were a lot quieter. All of our group of 7 (aged 61-69) made it to Base Camp - doing the longer 17 day trek is definitely the way to go (young or old!), it gives you a better chance to acclimatise naturally. Lots of steep hills and steps so start training at least 5-6 months before you go. It will still be hard work but so worth the effort!! We definitely recommend World Expeditions, they look after you and also their staff.

I have had a wonderful trip indeed. It was cold and it was hard trekking upwards on the never ending stony stairs and great big stones going to the Base Camp, but we also have amazing people looking after us. We could rest and catch our breath when necessary. World expeditions made it possible for us to achieve such an amazing goal I have had for a long time but I knew I could not do it in 14 days. 11 days to reach the Base Camp and 6 days to come back to Lukla made the real difference. I was even telling our guide maybe World Expedition would like to make a Tshirt saying If you want to get to Base Camp. World Expeditions makes it possible.

Such a worthwhile trip, including because of our fantastic guide Valerie Parkinson. Valerie's knowledge and passion for the region and its people is palpable and she is also an engaging person with interesting stories about her own exploits over the years. Yes the hiking is not easy, the creature comforts are lacking and the food is (though better than expected) simple and repetitive; however, it is all part of the amazing experience of trekking to EBC. If you think you have the stamina, fitness and willingness to poop in a hole, then do this trek! And do it with Valerie if you can as having a native English-speaking guide who understands your own cultural context is so much better than a local guide.

My EBC trip was perfectly planned. First of all, I want to thank Mr. Gokul, my guide Kali, and Amita from operations a million times. The guesthouses I stayed in were warm and clean. My guide Kali was always kind and supportive. I’m very excited for my ABC trip this year—hope to see you again soon!

I am writing to compliment our guide on the trip. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He was kind and friendly and made our trip very pleasant. He became like family to us while we were on the trek. He took care of all of our needs and made sure that we had everything to make us comfortable. During the trek, I developed acute elevation sickness. He brought me tea and took care of me and did everything to make me comfortable. He made all of the arrangements for the emergency rescue and came with us to the hospital. We will never forget everything that he did for us. We have traveled all over the world and with many travel companies. Thank you for providing him as our guide.

Khum and the team have been fantastic. Met us at the airport and had a warm welcome. Sorted everything out for us with taxis and helicopters. Porters were great and our guide Dawa was fantastic. Great company. Would thoroughly recommend if you are thinking of trekking in Nepal.
