Bucharest Tours in Winter

Was a great way to experience several medieval castles in Romania. The guide, Iulian, was very knowledgeable on the history of each area visited as well as must see and must do activities in each town. This is highly recommended for couples and families with older children. Did not disappoint.

George, our guide was fantastic. Very personal and knowledgeable. Chatted, got to know him. Wonderful. Our driver.. wow... Amazing to watch him navigate. Felt safe the whole trip. This was my first ever trip with this tour company. And first classified walking trip. The carpathian mountains were beautiful Early June was exceptionally hot and sunny. The walks were sometimes steep up or down knee length grass.

I have been on a number of cycling holidays with this tour operator but this was one of the best. The cycling was just right with a number of modest climbs but the countryside is so beautiful and unspoilt with so much to see. Mountains, wild flowers, wildlife, forests, herds of sheep and cattle. Also a lot to learn about the history of Romania which explains the fortified churches, the hilltop citadels, the extraordinary palaces, the legacy of the Soviet era. A brilliant holiday.

This trip was all the best of Exodus in one go. A wonderfully balanced mix, every day a new aspect of Carpathian life. I went with my mum who said it was our best Exodus trip yet. It's really wonderful to be in an agricultural area where things are not about romancing the past to please the tourists. 

I booked this trip very late (2 days before departure) and the staff in the UK office were brilliant and did everything they could for me to make sure I was able to participate in the trip. This helpfulness continued in Romania as Gigi, our guide, was exceptionally helpful at all times (even arranging for me to borrow his Brother's waterproof trousers as I had forgotten mine in my rush). Gigi is a brilliant and kind guide who adores his country, which made the trip in lots of ways. I am not particularly interested in Monasteries (I had limited choice due to the lateness of booking) but they were more interesting than I expected and the trip notes are the most accurate of any trip I have been on. I am glad I went on the trip.
