A great 5 days hiking in the Transylvanian Alps! Beautiful scenery and excellent views from the tops. Our guide Robin was excellent - very knowledgeable and did a great job looking after the group. Also really enjoyed our trips to Peles and Bran Castles and the National Village Museum in Bucharest.

Tough but worth it!

This is a tough week (and I've done Kilimanjaro/TMB/Toubkal). Don't underestimate it. Someone told me that in Romania the trails just go straight up - no zigzags and they really do! The ascents one the first two days are quite technical scrambles /climbs and the descents are absolutely knee-wrecking. So be ready for that and you'll have a fabulous time!

Beautiful trip with knowledgeable guide. Walking over the first saddle with the cows and the ringing bells was very very special. The views from the Ridgeline were absolutely gorgeous, as was the gorge. Parts felt a bit rushed, especially the Bucharest time but understandable with the larger group in busy places. It's well worth having a couple of extra days in Bucharest to experience the city. Overall an amazing trip. Lots of delicious food, and fantastic with catering for gluten free across the whole trip! The Guide was fantastic for communicating with the locals, organizing everything and ensuring tips were taken care of. Fantastic to have so much additional information for all of the places we visited as well as for the walks themselves.

Explore organise and run their trips extremely well. The itinerary is used regularly and the guides are very knowledgeable. The trek was as described although I made the length longer with my recordings and the hours of hiking longer each day but we were a big group so we stopped often enough route. We have had Explore before and would travel with them again

Brilliant guide. Very competent and professional. Robbin gave us so many tips and bits of advice. He helped me with problems I had with my boots and my backpack . Was patient and helpful guiding us slowly and carefully over the more tricky parts of the terrain. I suggest taking a large but comfortable rucksack for carrying enough for the three days away including the food for our lunches. Personally I would have preferred making up our own snack after breakfast to take with us instead of the amount of shared picnic, some of which was quite heavy and bulky to carry, but appreciate its a group tour and we all have take our share. It was a challenging but very memorable experience and would like to thank Robbin for his care and attention given throughout. Jacqui - Spain

Wow! I what beautiful nature on this trip. The trip was listed as moderate to challenging and it was! I so be in shape and bring poles. We added up the hike and In 5 days 70 km walk 3306 m elevation gain 4448 m descent ⛰️ Down was the hardest. We climbed a ridge and saw spectacular views. The we managed to see a bear-rare, red deer and tree frog. Flowers were still blooming. The huts were nice and the accommodated. My dietary issues. It was like camping at one hut because no indoor plumbing. Our tour guide Tudor exudes knowledge and confidence and that made all the difference. Romania is safe and beautiful and a place to visit. I highly recommend this tour... Just pack light as you carry your pack most days to get to huts
