Central America Adventure

Honestly one of the best trips I’ve ever been on! Our host Eve was amazing — super friendly, so organised, and just had the best energy. She made everyone feel so comfortable and kept the vibes high the whole time. We also had Alejandro as a trainee tour guide who was so passionate and knowledgeable. The itinerary was packed with awesome activities that definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone (in a good way!). And the group I did it with was incredible — such a fun bunch of people, and I’ve actually made some new friends from it! Would 100% recommend this tour to anyone thinking about it

This was a full on trip with a varied itinerary taking in wildlife, landscape, culture and history of this extremely interesting group of countries. There was the opportunity to do additional activities, though I would think twice about sledging down the volcano, walking was thrilling enough. Our Guatemalan guide was extremely knowledgeable and was supplemented by local guides in some locations. Certainly a trip of a lifetime.

Excellent

Got to see alot in a short space of time in Mexico and Guatemala. Logistics were taken care of, that made it easier as a solo travellers. Just take note of the long hours on the bus days.

Great trip with a mixture of Mayan archaeological sites (Tikal, Copan), natural wonders (waterfalls, Semuc Champey), volcanoes, beaches (Playa Blanca near Livingston) and colourful markets (Chichicastenango) and festivals (Sumpango - Festival de los Barriletes). Antigua I think has more to offer than one day - although the option was there for people to extend as we and a few others did. The big issue was some of the long journeys in the bus. EG Guatemala City to Copan, just over the border in Honduras and a remarkable Mayan site, was 5-6 hours according to the Itinerary but actually the journey took 8 hours. Also, on another route from Flores, we went on a short cut on an unmade road for over an hour. I am 6'1" and the pitch on the bus seats was rather tight and uncomfortable. Pretty much everyone had a degree of stomach issues during the two weeks - I was pretty badly affected!

Really enjoyed the trip but there were a couple of long days where it would have been good to spend time in one less village and get back in time to use the lovely pool eg the day on Lake Atltlan. Also on the days where there was no plan to get out of the minibus in the villages it would be good to know this in advance. The night walk guide at Monteverde was great and knew where to find animals and birds. It would probably be worth having a similar ranger guide on the day time walk. Module was an excellent guide… patient, pleasant and good with everyone. Really enjoyed the trip. Feel that I know a lot more about the history and politics of Central America and the accommodation was excellent.
