An absolutely outstanding trip - I visited Uganda in 1994 to see Gorillas and the wildlife etc - so this return trip was to see how the country had changed. There were a lot of changes but some things have stayed the same. The people are still so friendly, helpful and hospitable. Obviously the greatest expected highlight is trekking to the Gorillas and it was beyond expectations - our guide Robert had arranged for us to trek to the same family group I had seen 31 years ago - a small but extremely meaningful gesture - that is what makes a trip memorable. Getting literally a few feet away from the entire family group was sensational. But there is so much more to this trip - Walking with Giraffes and Zebra, admiring the Golden Monkeys, Dancing with the Ride 4 a Woman group, Laughing with Batu Tribespeople, making coffee from the bean, drinking the Banana Gin and reflecting on history at the Rwanda Genocide Memorial. The accommodation was superb - the lodges are all in the countryside environment - so you are surrounded by wildlife. The "Hot Water Bottles" and roaring fires make a very homely feel. There's even a couple of swimming pools at the perfect points in the trip Food was outstanding - maybe just a little too much - but extremely tasty, varied and offering the chance to experience local cuisine. One Tip - most places accept US Dollars - but in Uganda they are very meticulous on the quality - they MUST be clean, fresh, flat notes. No rips, tears, added pen ink or marks. Moderate pace is the perfect grading - Early morning starts but most days we had some spare time to relax, chill, enjoy the sights, drink and laugh. A highly recommended trip!

Lots to see and do. Don't expect much down time especially if you do the optional extras. But it's worth it. The red sea extension was great to relax at the end.

If you want to hit the ground running this fast-moving classical tour of in Ancient Egyptian history is for you. You'll cover much of the country, visiting more than a dozen iconic locations. Many important temples, tombs, pyramids, museums and other sites are included or offered as extras. There are also options to meet modern Egyptians and immerse in their culture. Time spent on the Nile cruise, felucca boat trips and in a hot air balloon give exhilarating opportunities to catch your breath and provide other unmissable perspectives.

Fantastic trip, covered all the areas I was interested in. The organisation of Mohammed ( tour guide) made everything go superbly. The consideration of the heat, timing, advice, expert knowledge and great sense of humour just put the icing on the cake. The accommodation and food were good too. I've travelled with Explore before and will again, highly recommend 👌 👍

Our tour guy Mohamed was superb. Please ask for him, his knowledge and willingness to help were incredible. Except for the places we ate that were not included in the tour, where they asked us to pay $15 without beverages, everything was outstanding.

Sleeper train was an experience! It was basic but fun but working lights and a cupboard door that shut would have been nice! No reflection on Explore, it is what it is.
