It was the trip of a lifetime--the best trip that I have ever taken in my 73 years!!! While most, if not all, of my fellow travelers were there only to see the animals on safari, I was there just as much to experience the people, food, and culture of Kenya. When I travel, I like to immerse myself in the local culture, trying to learn some of the language, eating the regional foods, and really trying to get to know the people. Our tour guide was very accommodating to me, as were employees at the various resorts and hotel where we stayed. The food selections are meant to appeal to all tourists (which is great!), but I always asked which foods were native to the area and tried to stick with them as much as possible. The 3 tour guides for our group were all outstanding!! The tour manager and guide for our subgroup of 6 was Fanuel Maina--WOW!!!!! How fortunate were we to have him guide us and take care of us!!!!! The knowledge and skills of these guides is amazing! Because of them, we were privileged to see (much of it up close) more animals (including amazing birds) than I ever would have thought possible. Maina, as he had us call him, was also able to tell us so much about the animals, birds, trees, other plant-life, as well as sharing information about various tribes and villages, Kenya's government, African trade routes, etc, etc.--so interesting and educational! I am also grateful that Collette has a program that picked us up at our homes and transported us to the airport, and then back again. Booking our flights for us was another perk that I greatly appreciated. All in all, I cannot speak highly enough of this trip to Kenya.

October is hot so be prepared for that. It also means there are a lot of animals early mornings and evenings and it was wonderful to watch a family of elephants with their babies rolling around in the mud and a family of lions with 2 cubs annoying their big sister. The food was great. In the basic camp it was cooked on a log fire with lots of fruit and veg. Our guide Sam was superb finding animals identifying birds and great fun. There are long journeys on roads which are not great. Tiring

Excellent safaris, many close up encounters with game. Great camps and accommodation. Well prepared food in the wild by great cooks, and camps superbly set up. One or two encounters with elephants and hippopotamus slightly worrying. Our driver, guide was great, though the length of hours he had to drive were too long on some occasions, though he never complained. He was extremely knowledgeable about the game and the policy of the game reserves. Excellent holiday but you do need to be able to rough it.

Amazing Adventure

This trip exceeded our expectations in almost every way. The proximity to the wildlife was extraordinary, the range of wildlife was exceptional and the entire experience is unforgettable. The trip was enhanced by the outstanding nature of our group leader, Brian, and the support team, Brighton, Timoth and Moeti. The food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the team. The trip is tough, early starts, lots of dust and bumpy roads but the rewards make all of this worthwhile and part of the experience.

A superb trip, one of the best I’ve been on. Our leader Bibi was excellent; his experience, knowledge and understanding of the wildlife resulted in us having unforgettable experiences. His ability to manage each day was efficient and communication was clear. He always listened to our requests and made sure all of our needs were met. The ‘boys’ at camp ran it really well: providing great food, were friendly, caring, with great attention to detail. Would recommend adding the Victoria Falls Wildlife trust visit to the itinerary, as this was excellent and a very worthwhile cause. Just a note: there is not time to do any walks at Thamo Telele as well as the Giraffe experience (which is now apparently included in the package, not an option, as I thought).

Our tour guide, Felix was FANTASTIC!! He was professional, enthusiastic, informative and a really great guy!! Of course the wildlife was AMAZING!! Everyday was filled with beautiful wildlife: elephants, zebras, lions, Buffalo, gazelles, birds, cheetahs and leopards!!! The scenery was breath taking. I have fallen in love with Kenya and Tanzania. I have done alot of traveling and this trip was one of my most favorites!! Great job Collette!! Thank you for such a tremendous experience!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
