Mardi Himal Trek is a good alternative to escape away from crowded treks of Annapurna with stunning views and duration similar to Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. Mardi Himal Trek is a relatively new trekking route in Annapurna region with spectacular views of the Annapurna Himalayan range. It's a peaceful trekking route with very few trekkers along the way. Though the availability of foods and accommodation on the route is at the bare minimum, Mardi Himal Trekking is still an enjoyable trekking route which requires minimum effort. Mardi Himal Trek is about a week long trip in the Himalayas with stunning views of snowy peaks through small Nepali villages. It is an interesting trek compared to other popular treks in the Annapurna region. The trek in Mardi Himal consist of short ascend or descend every day. The Tea houses on Mardi Himal Trek are basic and offer only essential items to trekkers.
Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel (1310M) 30 minutes 2 Star Hotel

Welcome to the city of temples and the country of Himalayas. Himalayan Leisure Inc. will happily welcome you at the only international airport of Nepal; Tribhuvan International Airport. Our airport representative will be waiting for your arrival with a placard with "Himalayan Leisure Inc." written on it outside the airport terminal. From there you will be transferred to the Hotel on an air conditioned private vehicle. Depending on the flight time and activities, we will be joining a cultural dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant with cultural shows, singing, dancing and typical Nepali meals before heading back to hotel.

Day 2 Drive to Pokhara (820M), explore Lakeside 7 hours 2 Star Hotel

Not sure if the hotel will be able to prepare our breakfast before we head to tourist bus station to catch our transport. The drive through beautiful countryside of this country is pleasant. The road mostly moves along the thundering rivers that might give us some views of rafters enjoying another part of Nepal. We will be driving via several green hills with views of houses and villages in the cliffs. We will also be welcomed by snowy peaks from the distance in some paces. Although the drive is beautiful, road condition might not be not good everywhere. We will basically have two stops for snacks and lunch along the way. Finally, after reaching Pokhara bus station we will take a cab to our hotel. If time permits then we can walk around local markets and lakeside in the evening.

Day 3 Drive to Kande, trek to Deurali 6 hours Guest house

We have time for our breakfast before we start our drive to Kande. Kande is on the top of a hill near Pokhara and offers some views of Himalayas. From here we will start our trek approaching Pothana first. The trail is enjoyable and we will have some views of villages in the horizon. Continuing further will take us to Pitam Deurali where we will stop for first night in the mountains. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 4 DAY 04: Trek to Low Camp (3,035M) 6-7 hours Guest house

The trail is mostly inside the green forests of oak, maple, hemlock and rhododendron. The section includes some ups and downs and takes about 3-4 hours to reach Forest Camp, a small village with few guest houses. Forest camp is known as Kokar among local people. The trail is steep in the beginning and changes to a gradual climb after a while. We will have some random views of snowy Himalayan peaks. The views of Machhapuchhre peak is superb from Low Camp. This is a very small places with only a couple of lodges open for basic meals and accommodation to trekkers. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5 Trek to High Camp (3,590M) 6 hours Guest house

We have another pleasant hike with stunning views of the Himalayas right in front of us. As we climb higher the route also becomes open and spacious as there are no forests anymore. The trail continues through grasslands of high region with occasional rhododendron trees. Spotting the beautiful bird called Himalayan Monal; also known as the Impeyan Monal, Impeyan pheasant or Danphe in Nepali is easy around here. This is a colourful Himalayan bird represented as the national bird of Nepal. Finally, we will arrive at High Camp to spend a night here. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 6 Hike to Upper View Point (4,200M), back to High Camp 4.5 hours Guest house

We will wake up early in the morning before the sun rises. The plan is to watch sunrise over the Himalayas. We will then return back to lodge where we will be served with our breakfast. We have time to rest before we start hiking up to the upper view point for magnificent views of close Himalayan peaks. The trail heading to Upper View Point is well marked through the grassland and involves a few steep sections. Overall, this is a moderate trek, not too easy but not too challenging either. In summer seasons this area is full of yaks and sheep along with several yak herder's huts. There are some narrow and steep trails that require special attention. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 7 Trek to Landruk village (1,560M) 6.5 hours Guest house

We take a separate route to Landruk village. This is huge village that is on the way to Annapurna Base Camp. We will come across a junction of a trail heading to Low Camp on the left and Landruk on the right, so we take the right one. Descending further will again bring us back inside the forest where the trail is so peaceful and quiet. Turning a few spirals will take us back to Landruk village for overnight stay. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 8 Trek to Nayapul (1,070M), drive to Pokhara (820M) 8 hours 2 Star Hotel

We descend down to Modi River before we start walking on the next side. The trail is pretty flat all the way to Nayapul with small and short gradual ups and downs. We will be walking on the right of Modi Khola until we reach Birenthanti, where Modi Khola meets Bhurundi Khola coming from another side. Here we will cross the river once again making the Modi Khola on our right. In about 30 minutes from Birenthanti we will reach Nayapul from where we will catch our transportation that will take us to Pokhara for overnight stay. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 9 Drive back to Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel (1310M) 7 hours 2 Star Hotel

We probably will have our last meal in Pokhara before heading to tourist bus park to catch our bus that will carry us to Kathmandu. The road is same that we took on our way to Pokhara. It will stop in two places for snacks and lunch along the way. We will be driving via beautiful green hills, small countryside towns and thundering rivers. (Breakfast, Complimentary Farewell Dinner)

Day 10 Departure your trip or extend your trip 30 minutes

Here we come to the end of our memorable a week long trip. We will conclude our Langtang Valley Trekking in Kathmandu and proceed to airport for outbound flight back from Nepal. If we have time before our flight back we will explore local markets of Kathmandu on our own if not we will proceed to airport straightaway. (Breakfast)
