Amazing tour made perfect by a fabulously knowledgeable and attentive tour guide (Miguel Vasquez). Great itinerary and even tho we did the ‘reverse’ think it was the best way round. Antigua at the end was the icing on the cake. Great mixture of adventure, nature, history and local culture. Food and drink good too. Accommodation is good some exceeded my expectations but not enough to warrant ‘excellent’. ..

Miguel was an excellent tour guide during our full-on five country tour of Central America. It’s not a tour for everyone as there is little free time but I loved it. Volcanoes, wildlife, Mayan ruins, local culture and yet more volcanoes - what’s not to like! We did the Costa Rica to Guatemala route and felt this flowed better than the alternative would have - particularly finishing up in a lovely hotel in Antigua.

We were lucky to have a highly experienced tour leader in Tommy Morales. He had to contend with various hiccups along the way (e. g the coach driver having an accident on the way to meet us in El Salvador) and he did this seamlessly, always with good nature and humour .

The itinerary covered a large area of Guatemala and consequently there were some very long travel days, arriving at our hotels quite late, however, whilst this was knowingly signed up to, it was good to stay 2 nights at most places but there was very little free time. Some places that were on the itinerary could have been left out eg the Candelaria Caves, which clearly was used as a stopping point on another long driving day to Coban. The country is colourful and the people are friendly, the colonial architecture was a feast as well as the amazing Mayan sites both in Honduras as well as Guatemala. We were very disappointed not to visit the final Mayan site, Iximche which was closed, presumably as it was November 1st, but it meant we had longer in Sumpango, where we could watch attempts to get the larger kites into the sky... the last one was still flying when we left, a clear winner. Another unexpected bonus was a festival in Antigua (Nov 2nd) which took the whole day to complete around the town, not fully explained by our guide, but after a check out with Google it is called the Procession of the School of Christ, which celebrated 76 years in 2025, so extra special. We managed to stay well clear of any illness for the duration of the trip, unlike a small minority of the group, however if you are a seasoned traveller I would definitely recommend this tour ;)

A very beautiful country with stunning rain forests and volcanic formations. Maya culture and the ancient sites were our reason for booking this holiday and we were not disappointed! Highlights - Tikal, Copan and the beautiful town of Antigua There is a lot of travelling and this takes a great deal of time due to poor roads and volume of traffic Hotels were good and we stayed in some beautiful locations

Our tour leader, Tommy Morales, was excellent! He was well versed and prepared during travel, restaurants and rest stops, cared for all 15 of us, and was always ready with a plan B in case of a travel problem. The only issue was the bus - we were crammed in there like sardines and when you consider the length of the tour the busses were VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Also, as most of the tour participants were on the older or elderly side, having regular baggage delivery and collection would have been worth a fee (there were a few of the hotels where bags were collected). But based on what we paid for the trip and the itinerary, it was well worth it.
