About Reykjavik Excursions

Kynnisferðir also known as Reykjavik Excursions was founded in 1968, and we will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2018. The company, which is a fully licensed tour operator and travel agent, has grown into one of the largest tour operators in Iceland during those five decades and offers a range of excellent tours and services for individuals and groups.

We operate one of the largest coach fleets in Iceland with vehicles of many sizes, which can take you to many of the most beautiful spots in our country. All our coaches are equipped with free Wi-Fi.

Reykjavik Excursions has operated the Flybus, the main bus service between Iceland's capital Reykjavík and Keflavík International Airport, since 1979. With regularly scheduled bus services coordinated with each departing and arriving flight, we are committed to providing the best possible connections for visitors to our beautiful country.

Our day tours allow you to experience many of the most stunning and exotic places in Iceland. Should you have special wishes, our sales team will tailor-make tours to fit your requirements. Should you want added flexibility and freedom, our Iceland On Your Own program might be just the thing for you. Back in Reykjavík, our Hop On - Hop Off double-decker buses are very popular and allow you to take in the city's main sights easily and comfortably. Our most recent addition is Enterprise Rent-A-Car, offering the latest car models in all categories from extra small to luxury cars, at compatible prices.

We are incredibly proud to be the first Icelandic tour operator to be granted the ISO 14001 certification for environmental management from the British Standard Institute (BSI). The company has certifications from Vakinn, both for their quality system as well as for their environmental system. Vakinn is Iceland tourism's official quality and environmental system which aims to strengthen both quality and safety in tourism using guidance and support, as well as developing a sense of social responsibility. We are also Iceland's only company with membership in the Global Passenger Network, an international association founded to promote the highest standards in coach operations worldwide.
