I can't recommend this tour enough. Well organized, amazing experience. Hiking was beautiful and the porters and staff were so hard working, they carried everything, set-up camp for us every day/night and allowed guests to immerse in the magic of the Incan culture and natural beauty unencumbered. Also - the food, which was cooked fresh every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner was delicious, healthy and made with care.

Roger is the best of the best. Our experience wouldn’t have been the same without him - he knows everyone and everything. A true ‘go to’ person to have with you in Peru. He’s super cool and brings good vibes to the group. He made the experience in my opinion - it wouldn’t have been the same without him and his extensive knowledge of the locals and Peru.
Calling all experienced trekkers and adventurous seniors—challenge yourself with the legendary Salkantay Trek, a strenuous 8-day trip through the heart of the Peruvian Andes. Start and finish in Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, and embark on a four-day trek across lush jungles, high mountain passes, and striking turquoise lagoons.
Named one of National Geographic’s “25 Best Treks in the World,” the Salkantay offers breathtaking vistas of snow-capped peaks and far fewer crowds than the Inca Trail. The culmination is the magnificent sanctuary of Machu Picchu, where you’ll witness the awe-inspiring ruins at sunrise.
This tour’s unique selling point is its perfect balance of natural solitude, challenging trekking, and cultural immersion—making it a dream adventure for those seeking a world-class Andean journey.

If you did not manage to reserve permits for the Inca Trail, we highly recommend the Salkantay as an alternative. Apart from the classic Inca Trail, the Salkantay Trek is without a doubt one of the most beautiful treks in the Andes. National Geographic Adventure Travel Magazine listed it as one of the 25 best treks in the world. The trek is currently open to everyone and there are no limitations on spaces and permits.
The Salkantay Trek will take you through unique and varying landscapes with the scenery nothing short of breathtaking! Photographers will experience sheer ecstasy as we walk along ancient and solitary footpaths: from picturesque grassy highlands to flourishing cloud forests, where luxuriant tropical rainforests meet colossal snow-capped mountains. The Salkantay Trek is off-the-beaten path and authentic. You will be spirited away into a world of phenomenal beauty and abundance of nature, with sacred solitude and hours of deliciously quiet contemplation.
Since the ancient Incan times, the spectacular glacier-capped peak of Mount Salkantay has been considered as sacred and the protector of the local people and their crops. The name Salkantay or Salcantay is a Quechua word meaning invincible, wild or savage. Thus, Salkantay is often called "Savage Mountain". Salkantay (Nevado Salkantay), or Sallqantay in Quechua, is the highest peak of the Cordillera Vilcabamba, which forms part of the Andes Mountain Range, rising to 6271 meters above sea level (20,574 ft). Salkantay is located less than 50 miles from the city of Cusco.
We are looking forward to taking you on a great hike.
