THIS was amazing!! I did no research before picking and just knew I had the right group! Samantha made the entire trip feel like home (but with a bunch of wilderness animals). We were educated and pampered, fed like family and saw amazing animals, beauty and family! I have already told so many to go with Collette land and water and ask for Samantha!! The time of year seeing baby animals was such a blessing. I hope to go back in few years.
There were so many great experiences it is hard to single one out. Seeing herds of Hippos and Elephants on the first day, and the shear number of Elephant herds we saw, to having Elephants wander up to drink out of the pool.
Our two-week G Adventures safari through South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Botswana, hosted in conjunction with National Geographic, was nothing short of extraordinary. From thrilling game drives in Kruger National Park and Karongwe Private Game Reserve, where lions, elephants, and leopards roamed freely, to witnessing the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls, every moment was filled with wonder. Expert guides brought the experience to life with their deep knowledge and passion, creating an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie that turned our group into a safari family. The adventure was enriched by delicious local cuisine, stunning landscapes, and unforgettable wildlife encounters, making this journey a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will forever be etched in our hearts.
This trip was incredible! The crowd leaned a bit older than other Contiki's I have done (Europe & SE Asia), and due to the very early wake ups partying was not a big part of this trip. I felt very safe everywhere we went and the trip manager did a really good job of giving us a safety briefing about the area when it was needed. The places we stayed were nice and the food was decent. One of the places we stayed offered massages and that was a very nice touch! The worst part of the trip was camping - it was over 100F during the day in Kruger and around 90F at night and there was no way to cool the tents down. Trying to sleep in that heat was very miserable - I would advise bringing some medication or supplement that can help you sleep and a small fan if you can fit it in your luggage. Aside from the heat, the camp site was very nice. Bring a camera with a zoom lens for the safaris and/or binoculars, it is worth it!! This experience was life changing and I am already wanting to go back. There are quite a few free time add ons, look over those before the trip so you can budget for them.
This trip was something very special and had so much variety of activities and cultural experiences! Our long driving days or early starts on the lando were all worth every minute of it and with big rewards. Being drove through Africa the scenes were just beautiful. I wish I could experience this trip again ! Definitely another trip in Africa would be on the cards if the time is ever right! Thanks g ! Joe and Philip are legends. i miss Africa still soo much !
The itinerary for this trip was well crafted with a great blend of activities and minimal travel times. The tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond to ensure each traveler had an amazing trip.
