The trip was great. Got lots to see and do. Accommodations were excellent. Our guide was knowledgeable and overall a great person to travel with. This was my first time with a travel company and will travel with Trafalgar again.

Trip of a lifetime- I loved every minute of it. The itinerary is build brilliantly and shows diversity of Peru. Pabel (from Cusco) was an exceptional guide, so passionate about his heritage and very experienced. His knowledge, sense of humour and willingness to share traditions and customs of his family and ancestors made this a truly brilliant and wholesome trip, I feel I really immersed myself in Inka and Peruvian culture thanks to Pabel. Although I have experienced how altitude may affect one (some headaches, shortness of breath, minor stomach sensations and some sleep disruption), the itinerary and guides help you adjust to it- and you only start the Inka Trail hike after a few days acclimatising- which makes it much easier, and by the time it matters- you are fine. It has not spoilt my experience, in fact it was part of it. Pabel was very caring and ensuring everyone can complete the trail moving slowly and taking lots of breaks, but yet at a good pace. If you are generally an active person and enjoy a hike - you can do it! Diversity of places you visit helps you understand Peru and its complexity. Highlights for me included being on the Inka Trail- changing vegetation as you move along- mystic cloud forrest was magical, camping, sunrise at 3800m, breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys; condor viewing- we saw about 15 that were circulating Colca Canyon in front of our eyes; the contrast - the desert and ocean compared with the Andes; stillness of lake Titicaca and swimming in it, the sunset on Taquile island… so many, not sure about the top moment. Seeing Machu Picchu was wonderful, but with all other incredible experiences- it was the journey that mattered the most. Worth noting that we saw hardly anyone (other tourists) on the Inka trail till the final day- thanks to the timings and the way moving along the Inca Trail is planned by the guide and Explore- taking the local guides’ insights into consideration. The first night was at a private campsite- with the view of Inka ruins. The Porters and the guide worked so hard to make the journey through the trail easy for us. Thank you Pabel and the organisers for this unforgettable experience. Tip: If you are a couple, ask for double bed in accommodations at the time of booking. Pabel went above and beyond and managed to sort it for us on the spot in almost each location, but would be best to have it arranged in advance. Although my husband and i booked as a couple - all rooms were twin. Whilst most accommodations have double bed option- it is not arranged for you, if i was booking again Id ask customer service to have double bed if available.

While the itinerary offered some great optional excursions (rainbow Mountain, although particularly challenging ended up being one of my favorites). I personally booked a couple on my own. One experience was not offered through Costsaver (found through my own research of local experiences) and the other I booked through another party because the optional experience offered by Costsaver was relatively more expensive than the one I did independently. The food tour in Barranco I did on my own was a great choice because the optional that was offered through Costsaver ended up getting canceled. Machu Picchu, which was included in our itinerary, was an absolute highlight, and as mentioned previously, the other included experiences such as visiting a local house and empanada class made for an amazing experience.

Fabulous introduction to Peru

First time travelling with Exodus. One of the best trips we’ve taken. Very well organised, great tour leader and lovely company of our fellow travellers. Every day provided wonderful experiences. Awe inspiring scenery, changing landscapes, culture and history, the people we met and sites visited were just wonderful. We travelled many kilometres and had some early starts, but the comfortable transport and laughs on the way made it worth it. We had a full on experience of this beautiful Country. Thanks to Renato, our tour leader, everything went smoothly. His pride in his country was infectious.

A True Peruvian Adventure: Culture, Wildlife, and Breathtaking Scenery

I’ve just returned from an unforgettable 15-day adventure through Peru with Exodus Travels, and I can honestly say it exceeded all expectations. The itinerary took us through some of the most iconic and breathtaking parts of the country, including the awe-inspiring Amazon Rainforest, the legendary Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and the serene and culturally rich Lake Titicaca. Along the way, we also explored a number of fascinating towns and cities that each offered their own unique character and charm. Peru itself is an absolute gem of a destination. The landscapes are incredibly diverse — from the lush, wildlife-filled jungles of the Amazon to the dramatic peaks of the Andes and the tranquil high-altitude plains around Lake Titicaca. Every day brought a new view, a new climate, and a new surprise. The natural beauty is jaw-dropping, and the opportunities for spotting wildlife, exotic birds, and unique plant life were abundant, especially in the rainforest. What really brought the trip to life, though, was the people. The Peruvians we met along the way were warm, welcoming, and incredibly proud of their heritage. Their traditions, art, and way of life gave real depth to the journey. The cultural experiences — from visiting local markets to sharing meals with families on the islands of Lake Titicaca — added a richness to the adventure that I’ll never forget. A huge part of the success of this trip was down to our exceptional guide, Holger Collantes. Holger was more than just a tour leader — he was a storyteller, a cultural ambassador, a problem-solver, and a constant source of knowledge and encouragement. His passion for his country was evident in everything he did, and his deep knowledge of local history, wildlife, and customs really enhanced our experience. He made sure we were well taken care of at every stage, from coordinating logistics to offering invaluable tips and insights. Thanks to Holger, we didn’t just see Peru — we truly experienced it. Walking the Inca Trail was a personal highlight — challenging, yes, but incredibly rewarding. The sense of achievement upon arriving at the Sun Gate and seeing Machu Picchu spread out before us was indescribable. It’s a moment that will stay with me forever. Similarly, our time in the Amazon was magical — waking up to the sounds of the jungle, taking boat trips along the river, and spotting everything from monkeys to macaws was like stepping into another world. All in all, this trip was an extraordinary journey through one of the most beautiful and culturally rich countries I’ve ever visited. It combined physical challenge, natural beauty, and cultural immersion in a way that very few holidays can. I cannot recommend it highly enough — and if you’re lucky enough to get Holger as your guide, you’re in for a truly exceptional experience.

Fantastic trip to 2 places the highlights were Machu Picchu and Galapagos. Seeing the wildlife and Galapagos was amazing. The only thing that let us down was the airline companies because of delayed luggage we had to go to the airport to get our luggage which was a negative point and some of our tall group had to go twice because their luggage was delayed twice. To be honest, we didn’t get much help from the guy either we had to go to the airport ourselves. Other than that, it was an excellent trip and I would highly recommend.
