Reviews of our Mexico Tours for Senior Citizens

Our senior travelers love their Mexico journeys — here's what they say.

Excellent

This was my 5th G Adventures tour and it was a wonderful time! I loved this trip: the activities, the accommodations, and especially our guide. Alonso was a fantastic CEO who made the trip run so smoothly and was so knowledgeable about Mexico and the culture. He really went above and beyond to make sure that everyone on the trip was accommodated and provided immediate feedback to hotels or other places anytime there was an issue. He was also great at making recommendations for food and other activities. I loved this trip and Alonso was a big part of making it great. Alonso is the best!

Excellent tour of chiapas and yucatan

This was our first time visiting Mexico and the itinerary gave a good overview of the region, with mixture of mountain and coast, natural beauty, local culture and history.

Excellent

Wonderful time! Food, culture, nature, amenities, the experience was top notch. The only feedback I’d give for improvement is to be sure the CEO selects or has input on who is selected when we have guided activities done by someone other than the CEO. I would’ve rather had only her for all aspects of the tours and such.

Rosann M | Traveled in April
Excellent

This was a fun, immersive week where I really felt like I got a local view on each of the places we visited. Oaxaca was incredible, from the biking and weaving excursions to the beautiful petrified waterfall in the mountains and incredible food . Puebla and CDMX were also amazing, with fun activities each day and a lot more hustle and bustle. Overall I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone looking for an adventure that gives you a sense of how amazing Mexico is!

Excellent

Good mix of activities, though it feels like someone at the main office dropped the ball and didn't pan ahead. Not getting tickets to the Frida museum was entirely poor planning and is unacceptable. The demonstration on New Year's getting cancelled is understandable, but alternative plans should have been made. New Year's occurs every year so it's not like it was a surprise or you didn't have time to make alternative arrangements.

Candace B | Traveled in January
Excellent

The historical related activities (like archeological sites and historic learning) was a good mix with the more modern culture and current vibe of Mexico. Also experiencing the faster pace of CDMX versus Puebla/Oxaca was a great contrast.

Tips for seniors traveling to Mexico

Age range for senior tours in Mexico

Senior tours in Mexico cater primarily to travelers aged 50 and above, though specific age requirements vary by tour operator. Europamundo, a well-known provider on the platform, typically designs its senior-friendly trips for travelers up to the age of 99, accommodating a broad range of older adventurers. Another reputable name, G Adventures, also features senior tours with flexible age ranges, but caps it off at 95. At Bookmundi, seniors are defined as 60+—any tour listed under the senior category is usually suitable for anyone aged 50 and older, provided they’re in reasonably good health and up for light activities.

Recommended activities and destinations for seniors in Mexico

Enjoy leisurely beach days in Cancún or Puerto Vallarta, explore the vibrant markets and colonial charm of San Miguel de Allende, or take guided heritage walks in Mexico City. While ancient sites like Chichén Itzá and Teotihuacán are must-see places to visit in Mexico, they involve stairs and uneven terrain. Knowledgeable guides on senior tours will offer options for shorter walks. Tranquil boat rides through Xochimilco, cooking classes, or visiting art museums also offer relaxed yet immersive experiences. Best time for seniors to travel to Mexico

For a comfortable experience, consider visiting Mexico between November and March, when temperatures are milder, averaging around 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). The months from June to September can be hotter and more humid, which might be less comfortable for some travelers.
