Madagascar Tours in October 2026

This trip was absolutely fantastic. The quality of the hotels was amazing and the different vehicles were excellent. The drive to the river was an adventure in itself and the canoeing was a special remote travel experience. This operator is the only one ever going to this part of the country and they have a great bunch of boatmen, excellent equipment and well rehearsed camping routines. The Tsingy was great fun and we saw two different types of lemur just a few feet from us as we walked in. All the driving throughout the trip was very interesting with beautiful terraced fields for much of the time. We saw 11 different types of lemur in total and lots of chameleon. Our trek was great and our trek crew were a lot of fun singing and dancing every night. Our guide Rynah spoke excellent English and was absolutely lovely. We loved this 21 day action packed adventure! It was incredibly well organised and ran very smoothly, despite the complex logistics involved with 4WD vehicles, canoes and canoe crew, cooks, camping gear, mini bus transport and porters. Rynah, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the flora, fauna and people, and did everything to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable trip.

I just wanted to let you know that my Madagascar Adventure was fabulous. Your local operator is excellent and the logistics were absolutely spot on. The guide and drivers were superb, the vehicles top quality, the camping equipment excellent, the boat and trek crews brilliant.

Great trip. I particularly loved the trekking, camping and guides, cooks and porters. Trekking to pic Bobby was tough but ok if done in moderate pace and worth it for the amazing sceneries Wildlife was fantastic

I thought it might be useful to give a little more info about the walking on this trip as I was very concerned I had bitten off more than I could chew. I am nearly 73, fit , for my age, woman. Used to walking but I live in Essex so am not used to hills! I have walked in Vietnam and Georgia in the past 18 months however this trip was much more of a challenge because of altitude and heat. I was the oldest in the group of 11 with the youngest at 22(!) Whilst three of the group reached the peak a good hour ahead and two turned back the rest of us all succeeded. It was challenging however if I can do it others can!! Very tough on knees and my advice is to get your cardio up to scratch and go for it! Overall a fantastic trip with excellent walking, very basic camping, great food and Hery a wonderful, caring guide.

I recommend this trip for anyone who seeks true adventure and wants an immersive experience, you're going to love this. I was very happy with our guide Barnabus, most pleasant and engaging. The Madagascar tour provided access to wonderful scenery and ample opportunities to connect to people. I won't sugarcoat it, there are a couple of challenging days with long bumpy rides but the destinations were always worth it. The days spent traveling by boat were fantastic. So glad I signed on for it and really enjoyed the small group I was traveling with.
