Reviews of our Georgia Tours for May
Feedback from guests who toured Georgia during May.
The trip was tough one and the weather was unexpectedly wet and cold in the mountains but we all had a good time. Tbilisi is a great place to wander around, safe and cheap. One down side to the trip was the feral dogs, most friendly but some not, barred teeth, full attack mode. Perhaps the guide could have been more helpful when we encountered the dogs. Personally I can cope with aggressive dogs but many on the trip were very concerned when being chased.
Excellent trip. I only wish the roads were quieter. Many had fast traffic and big trucks which was a shame as it was the only bad part of an otherwise great holiday
The tour was very full and we saw a huge amount of the two countries and enjoyed the hospitality and food of several families and small businesses. We also spent many hours travelling in a not very comfortable minibus but this enabled us to stay in most hotels for at least two nights rather than changing everyday. The highlight for me was walking in the mountains, The cave town and beans in a clay pot which is so much more tasty than it sounds.
Trip content was good however this was the first trip of the season and why to early in the year. A lot of snow which prevented us doing day 2 and temperatures bitingly cold.
I have difficulty trying to listen to the guide talking because either no microphone or speakers system poor and noisy inside van very noisy.I noticed ample time to complete each days journey but Azerbaijan guide started late and seemed to rush us during walking. There was an argument between Georgian guide and fellow tour member resulting the driver got angry and drove dangerously in sending us back to hotel. We got worry for our safety and got change of driver and guide second day.The Armenian lady guide is the best because she is very patient with us and can communicable well with us in English.Overall the hotels are very good especially the ones near the border.
