Fabulous trip with a lot crammed in and covered some key archaeological sites which were incredible. Palenque in particular was a real highlight. There is a lot of time spent travelling but that’s part of the trip and itinerary does clearly indicate this. Very little walking so hiking boots are not needed, just good trainers for climbing the steep steeps if the various pyramids. Our tour leader Ana was fantastic, she was friendly with a great sense of humour, and she ensured everyone in the group knew what to expect each day, and what clothing and equipment to wear/bring which was so useful as conditions varied across locations. Her knowledge of history and Mayan sites was incredible and I learnt loads and it help put the sites into context, she really made the trip enjoyable. The only thing I would change would be to include a trip to the museum of anthropology in Mexico City at the start of the trip to put the history in context and to see the treasures that were recovered at the various sites. Highly recommend
The organisation of the trip was great and our tour leader Ana was very enthusiastic and her knowledge was extensive; making all the information very easy to understand and follow. Our driver Tino was also very nice and helpful. The swim at the cenote was a definite wonderful addition to the itinerary. The itinerary was well balanced with a good range of activities. Some feedback we hope will help in future tours is: . It would have been useful to include the Anthropology museum into the first day to set the scene for the Archaeological sites . It would have been good to know in advance that we would need $40 towards tips as not everyone might have USD with them. . The last night was disappointing as the hotel was not as good a standard as the previous ones and the town was not in keeping with the rest of the tour as it was very noisy and brash.
