Board a ferry and sail to Tangiers. Enjoy the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. Keep on a lookout for the dolphins that often accompany boats and ferries. Upon arriving in Tangier, you will be taken on a guided sightseeing tour in and around the city. See some of the most important historical sites of Tangier and learn how trade and commerce has shaped this bustling coastal city.
Drive along the Atlantic coastline to Spartel Cape, the northwestern point of the African mainland and one of the focal points of Tangier. The lighthouse of this cape was built in 1864 as part of an international agreement that saw the involvement of 9 European nations as well as American and Moroccan governments.
Continue along the Atlantic coast and stop at the Caves of Hercules, which date back to the Neolithic period and were said to have been used by Hercules during breaks from his labor. These caves are partially man-made. The construction of these caves is a marvel of engineering, considering the kind of tools the people had at that time.
Before we drive you to the city, you have the option to take a ride on a camel along the beach. Return to the city and enjoy delicious Moroccan cuisine at a traditional restaurant. Take a walking tour of the city after lunch, starting from Kasbah, known for its beautiful museum that gives you a glimpse into the history of the area from prehistoric times to the 19th century.
Travel to Medina next and explore a typical Moroccan market. Interact with the friendly locals and shop some gifts and souvenirs if you want to. Head for Tarifa and board a ferry back to Seville. We will drop you off at your hotel in Seville.
Our driver, Manuel, was wonderful and such a lovely man. We would like to be neighbors to he and his wife . He not only drive us to Tarifa, but walked with us through the town. Then ushered us to the ferry, waited for us to return, and took us back to our hotel. Mohammad, our guide in Tangier was very well versed on the world on which he was raised, and offered us insights into the past and present of his culture and country. Very enjoyable!”
