All round a good trip, a good introduction to a country I didn't know much about.
Using the train to get to Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang is a smoother and faster way to get to places than going by road, but you are not allowed to take anything which could be considered as a weapon (as in hand luggage on a plane), even in your luggage - it will screened and items confiscated.
Fortunately the guide was able to get things taken from group members taken to Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang by road.
I would recommend this trip if you are interested in visiting south east Asia.
This trip was seriously incredible. The people, our guide, the experiences. I would do this trip again. Seriously couldn’t be happier. We love Gadventures.
Amazing, simply amazing. Kakada made the tour, we are so lucky to have been on this tour with g adventures and supported with such a wonderful CEO. I felt the passion that he has in what he does.
Discover Vietnam’s kaleidoscope of colour, history, cuisine and landscapes on a 15-day Premium adventure. Learn about the mysteries of the Viet Minh in Ho Chi Minh City, visit the beautiful lakes and boulevards of Hanoi and get a glimpse of rural life as you cruise through the Mekong Delta. Wander historic temples, spend a night on a junk style boat beneath the stars in UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ha Long Bay and tuck into delicious banquets of fresh cuisine while learning what it means to be a local. This journey will take you off the well-trodden track and leave you with memories to last a lifetime.
You are much more than Angkor Wat, which brought me there in the first place. The history, culture & people made it truly a special experience. Thank you, Cambodia!
Journeys: Iconic Thailand was a fabulous experience!!! We had the most wonderful tour guide (shout out to Natthanan Chai Yenklom--the very best!!!!) who looked after every detail and made the experience comfortable and enjoyable for each person on the trip. I loved the varied activities--the home visit and cooking class in Chiang Mai; Ko Klang Island and Hong Island in Southern Thailand; and the amazing temples in Bangkok were particular highlights for me on the trip. I would do another National Geographic Journeys/G Adventures tour in the future!
An interesting and actvie tour of vietnam. The guide was informative and funny, and the vietnamese people warm and friendly. A great country, and a great way to see it!
Our trip to Thailand with National Geographic / G Adventures was an unforgettable, amazing trip. Our itinerary afforded us unique experiences to connect with local people and culture. Our CEO treated us like family and made each activity more meaningful and more fun.
Discover classic Laos on this 10-day guided tour. Start in the UNESCO heritage ancient royal capital Luang Prabang and travel through Phonsavanh to Vang Vieng to the final destination of Vientiane, the capital of Laos.
In Luang Prabang, visit famous temples that are still used in daily Lao life, experience a boat trip on the mighty Mekong River to the mysterious Pak Ou cave and see other highlights such as stunning waterfalls and a living farm.
Xieng Khouang, the next stop, is best-known for having been heavily bombed during the Indochina War and also for the historic Plain of Jars. In Vang Vieng, visit nearby villages, populated by the Hmong hill tribe and Tai Dam people, who live a simple life but possess a vibrant local culture and an interesting history.
Continue to Vientiane and stop to visit an archaeological site of Vang Xang, where you can admire one of the country’s oldest Buddha statues, dating back to the 11th century.
All accommodation, transport and activities are included on this tour, as well as several meals. Check out the what’s included sections and the detailed itinerary for more information.
The hotels were amazing but the trip was so full on there was no time to appreciate them. Also 18 Wats in 3 days was too much. Tour Guide very knowledgeable and fun. Really enjoyed it all but I think it could have been broken up a bit better, not so many long days and a break from WATs. I would recommend
This was an excellent trip to Thailand! All of the details were arranged! The tour guides were knowledge locals. It was nice not having to arrange any of the drivers. The hotels were all nice, clean, and comfortable. The tours were well chosen and all of the locations were excellent! I highly recommend and I would go again!
