Floating Villages, Tonle Sap Lake and Mangrove Forest - 1 day
This tour will take you to three villages along the Tonle Sap floodplains — discover Cambodia’s most important economic and ecological resource!
We will pick up from your hotel at 7:00 am and drive 15 km from Siem Reap to the boat docks of Chong Khneas. Board a local boat for a lovely ride onto the Tonle Sap through the floating village and market of Chong Khneas and villages on high stilts. Visit Kopong Phluk mangrove forest and the remote Kompong Khleang, the village on stilts. See how villagers uniquely live in harmony in this uncommon setting over/on water. Spend the whole day by the lake and its floodplains for this enriching cultural experience. Make a stop at Gecko Environment Center where you can learn more about the ecology and rich biodiversity of Tonle Sap and its surrounding floodplains.
The tour includes picnic lunch, cold bottled waters, beers and snacks.
In the afternoon, we will return to the boat dock in Kampong Khleang and travel back to Siem Reap in the afternoon by car.
