We recently concluded a two-week trip travelling throughout Sri Lanka using World Expeditions. With our input on sites to see, hikes to take, places of interest to visit, accommodations etc., the World Expeditions team provided an excellent and customized itinerary for our comprehensive private journey to Sri Lanka. Cycling Kerala's Backroads was an amazing experience all around. Challenging cycling, delicious food, great guides, and countless interactions with locals. The warmth and fun of the people was the best. Solid mix of doable distances, with cultural experiences. Cooking at the Barbeque in Mannar was a wonderful experience.
Shibu and Hareesh were excellent guides for our ride. This was our third tour with this company. All have been outstanding experiences. Safety, comfort, and communication have all been well managed. These two had great senses humor and were impressed with our ability to move across the terrain as efficiently as we did. We all had a renewing ride in Kerala. Charmed by the many people we met. It is not often after a two week holiday, I am not ready to leave and get home. I went by myself and I could have repeated the holiday easily. George our guide was incredible, full of charm, humour & wit he was totally unflappable and his knowledge of his country was encyclopaedic encompassing politics, economics, flora, fauna, religion and animals. He worked tirelessly to ensure we all made the most of our time. Sri Lanka is an amazing country and the fun, laughter and camaraderie we all experienced will live with me for a long time.

This was a great trip. The bikes were good and well-maintained. Accommodation was a nice mix of hotels. We had good food and good company. The wildlife and culture of Sri Lanka is wonderful.
The guide, Ash was knowledgeable and clearly cared that we were all happy and enjoying his beautiful country. His team were smiley and helpful.
Ash had to exercise diplomacy unfortunately as there was one bad apple client, (people!!) but he did this quietly and confidently.

This exhilarating trip through the high altitude mountain region of Ladakh, India, takes you over passes, into remote valleys, alongside glacier–fed rivers, across sand dunes, and through Tibetan villages. This is a Himalayan Odyssey not to be missed!
After arriving on a flight from New Delhi to Leh, we begin the adventure with a 3-day acclimatization loop, gradually adjusting ourselves to the high altitude conditions. We gently cycle along the valley floors in search of vestiges of the ancient Ladakhi Kingdom scattered around the expansive landscape surrounding Leh. Monasteries here are dramatically perched on top of cliffs and etched into the hillside, reflecting the ancient and rich Tibetan Buddhist cultural background of the region.
Once acclimated we will depart Leh and burst up the Warila Pass before cycling through the beautiful Sakti and Nubra Valleys. You will be looking down spectacular gorges and up to snow-capped peaks while getting a true window into life deep in the Himalayas. Traversing the vast and expansive high altitude desert terrain of the Nubra Valley - skirting along rivers and cruising through villages - you will also discover a world of sand dunes, Bactrian camels and star filled nights. The tour ends on the highest note possible: a cycle up (and of course down) the highest motorable road in the world.
