San Francisco: Yosemite And Giant Sequoias Tour - June 2027

San Francisco: Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Tour - June 2027

4
This San Francisco tour to Yosemite National Park is jam-packed with the towering granite monuments of Half Dome, Cathedral Peak and El Capitan, all forged by dramatic Mesozoic Era geology. You will see Bridalveil Fall, Horsetail and Yosemite Falls put on impressive water displays. Unlike other Yosemite tours, you can enjoy nature hikes in Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias and on the Meadow Loop Trail to the Swinging Bridge. Your Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Tour begins with a convenient pickup in at your downtown hotel, then heads east out of San Francisco to Yosemite, crossing through California’s fertile San Joaquin Valley before climbing into the rocky Sierra Nevada mountains. Relax as you learn the colorful gold rush history of the region. The tour pauses half-way to Yosemite to stretch your legs and grab refreshments. Soon after finishing the trip to Yosemite National Park from San Francisco, you will experience the quiet solitude of the Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias. You will not doubt for a second that these Yosemite trees are the largest living creatures on the planet. No picture does them justice, but that should not keep you from trying! In winter, when conditions on the Tuolumne Grove trail are snow-covered or unsafe, we substitute this experience with other attractions. See our Yosemite National Park Winter Tour from San Francisco. Your heart will be racing as we head down into Yosemite Valley and make the next stop at Inspiration Point, a view of the valley made famous by Ansel Adams and hundreds of artists since. Take a moment and then some selfies with El Capitan, Half Dome, Sentinel Dome, Glacier Point, Cathedral Peak and Bridalveil Fall as your backdrop. Once we reach the floor of Yosemite Valley, you will have a couple of hours of free time to grab a quick picnic lunch. Then, check out the Ansel Adams Gallery or the Yosemite Valley Wilderness Center in Yosemite Village. Both are great spots to pick up some souvenirs and gifts for friends back home. Besides giant trees, Yosemite Valley is home to more than 400 types of species of mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians. In Spring, wildflowers blanket the valley floor. The Lower Yosemite Falls, Mist and Meadow Loop trailheads are all near to Yosemite Valley Lodge. Each is guaranteed to delight hikers of any age. After re-boarding your tour vehicle, you day has more highlights. The tour makes a photo stop at El Capitan Meadow where you can get straight on view of the Yosemite icon, an impressive vantage point for Cathedral Rocks, and, if the season is right, Horsetail Fall which produces the famous “firefall” in late-February. Your Yosemite experience ends on a high note at Valley View. This spot serves up a view along the banks of the Merced River framed by El Capitan and the imposing spires of Cathedral Rocks. This is a great spot for your “saying goodbye” selfie.

Best of the West - June 2027

4.8
The coach, hotels & destinations were all great. The only issue would be to include some form of breakfast every day, even a basic ‘boxed’ breakfast, especially on early start mornings. Eventhough there are multiple stops, a breakfast with a muffin, a savoury item, juice/water & fruit, would ease the pressure on guests to find something nearby, within the time available. I appreciate Costsaver endeavour to minimise costs, but the guests are still having ‘out of pocket expenses’ & trying to find something, with limited time & outlets appropriate to their needs.

San Francisco: Redwoods And California Wine Country Tour - June 2027

San Francisco: Redwoods and California Wine Country Tour - June 2027

Get ready to be amazed as you board your bus in San Francisco to the world-famous California Wine Country Tours! Your San Francisco Wine Country Tour begins with a convenient pick up from your San Francisco hotel. After a leisurely cruise through the City and across the Golden Gate Bridge on your way up to Napa and Sonoma Counties, you’ll make a stop in Marin County at the Muir Woods National Monument. There, you’ll enjoy an easy stroll through the ancient forest, filled with Coastal Redwoods, many as tall as 200 feet! After communing with nature on an unforgettable giant redwoods walk, you’ll hop back on board to finish your trip up the California coast to Napa County. Your Wine Country tour begins with a Napa Valley wine tasting (subject to change based on availability). Here, you’ll be presented with a flight of wines hand-picked by the winemaker. You’ll learn about the winemaking process, and what makes the winery special as you sip and stroll through the vineyards. The wines you taste are generally not sold in stores, so be sure to stock up! Next, the tour brings you to Sonoma County, and the historic Sonoma Plaza. The plaza is filled with small, boutique shops and restaurants, catering to every taste. You can grab a bite in a restaurant, or take your food to go and enjoy your meal on the vast lawn surrounding the historic Sonoma City Hall. You also have the option of adding our gourmet lunch with a wine pairing at the Plaza Bistro, right there on the Sonoma Plaza. Check out the menu here. After lunch, you’ll head deeper into Sonoma County to visit two more boutique wineries in Sonoma County. Here, you’ll get to know the winemakers and special features of the wines they are offering. If the 4-wine flight isn’t enough, you’ll have the option to purchase additional tastings and bottles. The wineries are able to ship to most states, so be sure to check with your host to see if wine can be shipped to you. You can see the wineries we visit here. After your last tasting, it’s time to head back to San Francisco. You’ll come back down historic El Camino Real on your way through Marin County, reflecting on the amazing day you just had! Before rolling back into San Francisco, you’ll make one more photo stop (weather permitting) at the Golden Gate Bridge, where you can take in the stunning views of the San Francisco skyline, Alcatraz Island, the Marin Headlands, the Bay Bridge, and maybe even get a peek of the famous San Francisco fog as it rolls into the Bay. A perfect end to a perfect day. Exact destinations and itinerary may differ due to weather, road conditions, and the guide’s discretion. For international guests, please be aware that the legal drinking age in the United States is 21 years of age. For the rare event that commercial parking is not available at Muir Woods, we reserve the right to arrange an alternative destination for experiencing Giant Coast Redwoods during this tour.

Muir Woods & Sausalito Experience - June 2027

Muir Woods & Sausalito Experience - June 2027

The tour departs from Fisherman's Wharf with a knowledgeable tour guide on board the bus. On the way out to Muir Woods, you will cross the iconic Golden Gate Bridge with breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz Island. Continue along the Pacific Coast Highway, providing stunning views of the coastal mountains before heading further to Muir Woods National Monument. Relax in your comfortable seat and enjoy the beautiful scenery while your tour guide shares fun and informative facts along the way. Muir Woods is home to the Coast Redwoods, some of the tallest trees in the world, and it is the last remaining stands of Old Growth Forest, sustained by the temperate marine fog. With maps in hand, take a walk through the spectacular woods and take in all of its natural beauty. There are a number of paved walking trails that take you close to the magnificent giants, or you can explore the area by using the unpaved walking trails leading up the hills. It may even feel like a movie scene because Muir Woods was also used as the film set for a few blockbusters, such as the “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”. After exploring Muir Woods for about 1.5 hours at your leisure, we will head to charming Sausalito, a small Mediterranean-style seaside town in Marin County, home to some of the country's wealthiest citizens. Sausalito is a gorgeous destination that offers boutique shopping, unique art galleries, parks, amazing food and breathtaking views of the bay. If you wish to spend time in Sausalito, you can choose to hop off the tour and enjoy a ferry ride back to San Francisco with beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco skyline and Alcatraz Island (ferry tickets not included), or you can stay on board the tour and return back to San Francisco.
