We arrived in Poland as they were being flooded with heavy rainfall. This meant some minor tweaks to our itinerary however our guide, Justyna, was fabulous and took great care of us. Justyna has a deep knowledge and boundless enthusiasm and love for your country and it's people and you share that with gusto.
Krakow is a fabulous city to explore on foot and the mountains have different characters within the Carpathian range. Highlights were the walk/scramble up Kościelec (a neighbouring mountain from the itinerary!) and the view from Trzy Korony (3 Crowns). Great walking, food and drink if you're an omnivore. I don't think Poland is vegan friendly yet however is okay for a veggie if you don't mind eating your body weight in cheese in a week.
Polish history is long, complex and not all happy and harmonious however it is well worth a visit to learn and understand more.
