We enjoyed our recent highlights tour of Mexico. There was lots to see and explore. We thought the ancient sites were magnificent. However, we recommend that people arrive in Mexico city a couple of days beforehand to acclimatise and really explore this magnificent city and its museums. In Particular the Anthropology museum. We really enjoyed the mountainous regions, and the indigenous areas were just so interesting. The towns and cities of San Christobal De las casas, Campeche and Merida were splendid and worth staying for longer and really getting to know. Playa del Carmen at the end of the trip was a huge disappointment. It's not worth the effort and is a little tacky.

Great trip. Full on pace, would have to skip activities to slow down! A cultural and nature trip. Guatemala was my favourite country; the Mayan history and culture. The archeological site at Copan adds to the diversity of experiences on this trip. As well the more recent history of regime change in Nicaragua. This trip packs a lot in - culture, Mayan sites, eating, seeing local craftsmen at work, and just soaking up the atmosphere in the old Spanish colonial towns. Around and about in Mexico city, beautiful Puebla, San Cristobal and then lots of Mayan sites. The hotels were all good (had one slight problem in one of them but hopefully Exodus can get that sorted out for future trips). There are some long travelling days due to the distances which need to be covered, but it's worth it and a lot of the scenery is just amazing to see.

I totally enjoyed the Mayan experience with our tour leader Thomas Morales...we were his family and he organised a brilliant holiday for us. He solved a major problem we had with our phone...I highly recommend him as a tour leader. My only concern was the treatment of farm animals going for slaughter....I did not see any vetinary supervision or any health and safety practices.
