Had such an amazing time on the South Island NZ Tour - we went to a great range of places with a good amount of chill vs adventure activities and the people were all lovely. Would definitely recommend! º
Sri Lanka was an amazing country to experience. The Explore itinerary is well thought out to cover a variety of places and experiences, as much as it can be done in a short two weeks time. I loved the Sigiriya climb and the Hortons plains walk the most. And the elephants and their babies, of course.
The accommodation was good. The food was plentiful, and usually not an issue to find something for everyone's taste. There were times when I felt we had been faced with one too many buffet options, when lighter choices would have been more desirable. But I understand that a buffet was usually the most expedient way to accommodate a group of our size.
With 12 people in the group, mostly solo travellers, we had a very good dynamic. People were always included if they so desired, and also had the option to step out of the group bubble and do their own thing.
Hector, our driver, was a joy to be around, always attentive, safe, and going out of his way to make sure we were all taken care of, always with a smile. Thank you Hector!
And not the least, Nala, our tour leader, was the secret ingredient that made it all even better. Always with a big smile and a big heart, assessing everyone's needs and desires and trying to accommodate everyone, Nala was a treasure trove of information about Sri Lanka. This was a once in a lifetime trip and I highly recommend taking it! The logistics it takes to move through 4 countries in 11 days is a lot, and it was extremely smooth with contiki. The trip manager was top notch, he was knowledgeable, informative, caring and respectful. The add ons add up, make sure you are prepared for that, but every add on I did was absolutely worth it and I would recommend taking advantage of all the add ons you can. One thing to call out is in Kruger you truly camp in tents (I would not define this as “glamping”) it cooled down enough for us to be semi-comfortable but be prepped to rough it for two nights. Even with the camping, Kruger and the guided safari drives was the highlight of the trip. If you can, take this trip!! You won’t regret it.
This was a trip of a lifetime. Our guide, was knowledgeable, friendly and went out of his way daily to make sure our group was pleased. Our driver, was awesome and drove us to places we could have never seen on our own. We were able to see our beautiful country and learn new things.
This was a fantastic tour. We got to visit five National Parks, four of which we had not gone to previously. We got to see highlights at each park, but Yellowstone was something special. The variety of wildlife that we saw there was spectacular, including elk, bison, black bear and grizzly bear. The whole trip was memorable.
Hiking southern Iceland is an exciting, and demanding trip. beautiful, other worldly landscape. one of my top 3 tours. a person taking this trip should be fit/strong walker. Would not recommend for the average senior (over 65).
