I had an excellent ebike which made this trip pleasurable. The canal path is rough and although it is flat I wouldn't recommend it for a first timer. Our guide Erwin was personable and knowledgeable. Having an ebike made riding in the extreme winds and the optional ride possible for me. I strongly recommend Explore provide helmets and water bottles as other tours do. It takes up so much space when you are not returning home after a tour.

The best. It suited me. Lovely walks, lovely food, historical locations, wonderful guide. I loved the local input - visits to the farms, bakery. A visit to a working Truli house would have been a plus ( very touristy visit to Alberobello) and the last walk could have been more varied scenically. Could have stayed much longer in Matera! Altogether it was the best trip I’ve done with Explore. It helped having a lovely group too.

Our second trip with Explore, and both have been Fantastic. We had an excellent group to ride with, the bicycles were great, and the location, Provence, was amazing and beautiful. But what really pulled it together was our great team leader, Erwin. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, provided excellent guidance throughout this journey. And beyond that, he has a passion for Provence, its people, and its history, that he was able to effectively share with the group.
