The luck was with my trip. Blue skies and no rain. Great hikes and interesting history and cultural information passed on by our leader, Donal. I appreciated the small group of 8. I have made a few suggestions to Donal in reviewing the walks. It was fortuitous that our leader could adjust timings and events as needed. It was an exceptional trip to share with my son. We both loved Northern Ireland.

We had a fabulous time with Explore, the walking tour was breathtaking! Majestic snow capped mountains surrounded by the gorgeous array of wildflowers, and lakes and streams dotted throughout . We were blessed with perfect weather every day and loved seeing the clouds roll by each day.
Our leader was wonderful, very organised, knowledgeable and a genuinely a lovely person.

Our Cape to Victoria Falls was an amazing adventure, a tremendous way to be introduced to the hidden gems of South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. The tour was made more spectacular by our tour guides, their knowledge and ability to cater for our every wish and need, some we didn't even recognise ourselves. Great and varied accommodation, exciting, adventurous and challenging experiences. Constantly awakened senses. Why did I wait so long to visit Southern Africa? My recommendation, don't delay.

Your journey begins in Leh at 3,500m (11,483ft), where we explore the ancient monasteries of Shey, Tikse, and Matho, gaining insight into Ladakh’s deep-rooted Buddhist traditions. From here, we drive over the Khardung La at 5,602m (18,379ft), the highest motorable road in the world, into the stunning Nubra Valley, where we visit Diskit Monastery before beginning our trek.
Over six days, we follow ancient trails through summer settlements and remote side valleys, encountering traditional ways of life while gradually ascending to the base of the Lasermo La. The highlight of the trek is the exhilarating crossing of Lasermo La Pass at 5,440m (17,847ft), offering spectacular views of the East Karakoram and the Stok Range. Thanks to Rocio the wonderful guide, I am giving this holiday a 5 star review!! Her enthusiasm and passion for Portugal shone through, her knowledge on history and culture and all things flora and fauna was amazing, she was so interesting, fun and engaging and charming, as was Tania who joined the trip from the office in Barcelona. I particularly enjoyed the walking up in the hills, so green and verdant, lots of wild flowers….and the gorgeous orange and lemon trees were dripping with fruit. I loved the additional things like visiting the Monterosa Olive Oil producers, fascinating to hear and see how olives are produced and also the visit to the templar castle with fab views. The delicious lunch stop at Casa Merca with local cheese and a chorizo and pork chickpea stew was a treat! And visiting the local market at Olhao was fun! I would have preferred another days walking up in the hills rather than 2 days with walks along the beach….It was a plus for me that the holiday was centre based in Tavira as I really loved exploring the old town and its cobbled streets and finding delicious local restaurants to eat in, in the evenings!
