We hiked The Alpine Pass Route in Switzerland, and it was wonderful. It was more beautiful than anything I could have imagined. Everything worked out perfectly.

The hotels were well chosen and offered really good food. It's important to realize that much of the travel is not prearranged, but we were not high season so were able to book everything we needed. It would be better to arrive from Oslo than Bergen.
Indulge your senses in the heart of France’s wine country with the 'Burgundy Vineyard Trails'—a 7-day self-guided walking trip that expertly blends gentle rambles, historical intrigue, and world-class gastronomy. Beginning and ending in Beaune, this tour invites you to explore a region where medieval chateaux, ancient monasteries, and fragrant vineyards create an unforgettable tapestry.
The journey starts leisurely, allowing time to soak up Beaune’s vibrant atmosphere, sample local wines in Pommard, and visit landmarks like the Hotel Dieu. Each day offers a new discovery: from the circular walk to Saint Romain with its ruined chateau and 12th-century church, to scenic ascents leading to panoramic views as far as the Alps.
As the itinerary progresses, walks become moderately challenging, taking you over wooded escarpments and through sleepy hamlets, with lunch stops at celebrated restaurants. The landscape transitions from vine-covered slopes to forests and open plateaux, promising variety at every turn. Handpicked hotels and delicious local cuisine round out each day’s adventure.
The unique selling point of this tour package is its harmonious mix of culinary delights, rich history, and varied walking—ideal for travelers who want to savor Burgundy’s legendary art of living at their own pace.
Picture yourself rambling along the shores of Lake Como, where deep blue waters meet soaring alpine peaks and historic villas line the banks. The 'Lake Como Rambling' tour is an 8-day self-guided walking adventure crafted for those who appreciate both natural splendor and cultural refinement.
Starting and ending in Lake Como, this trip weaves through charming towns such as Como, Breglia, Bellagio, and Varenna. Walks are designed to showcase the region’s diverse scenery, from lush meadows and manicured gardens (thanks to the lake’s unique microclimate) to panoramic hillside paths. Ferries connect you to different shores, adding variety and a touch of old-world glamour.
Delve into the region’s storied past, where Roman villas gave way to grand Victorian hotels, and enjoy the mild climate that allows tropical and temperate plants to flourish. Each evening, unwind in carefully selected accommodations and savor the region’s renowned cuisine.
The unique selling point of this tour package is the opportunity to explore Lake Como’s beauty both on foot and by boat, offering a flexible, moderate trekking experience that blends relaxation with discovery. Ideal for travelers who seek a balanced getaway in one of Italy’s most picturesque locales.
Discover the Tuscan countryside and culture on this 8-day self-guided walking tour. Through the extensive footpath network of the area, roughly following the traces of the Via Francigena, one of Europe’s most important ‘highways’ in medieval times, you walk from village to village and experience a full immersion in the world-famous Tuscan landscape. The tour is perfect as an introduction to the region and a great choice for people who love museums, galleries and Gothic and Romanesque architecture. You have plenty of time to visit attractions on most of the days.
You will also have time to visit all the beautiful medieval villages and historic towns along the Via Francigena: starting from beautiful Lucca, you’ll pass through Fucecchio, San Miniato, Gambassi Terme, the stunning San Gimignano with its medieval skyscrapers and Monteriggioni, admired by Dante in his Divine Comedy. An optional detour can bring you to beautiful Colle Val d’Elsa and the tour ends in Siena, arguably the most perfectly preserved medieval town in Tuscany. This tour threads together some of the most attractive towns and villages in Tuscany in an eloquent procession.
However, the emphasis of the tour is to enjoy the countryside, the rolling vineyards, the poppies in spring and the wild cyclamen in autumn. The area north of Siena is an amazing landscape of rolling hills, alternating vineyards and forests, while cypresses line the way leading to the distant farmhouses. Walking here is an unforgettable experience and many of the views have barely changed for hundreds of years.
Accommodation and some meals are included. You spend a night in one of the best agriturismos in Tuscany, and the final night in the heart of Siena, in one of the most characteristic little hotels.
This is a moderately easy tour which is suitable for those who have some experience of walking and a good general physical condition.
