A last-minute booking, our trip was blessed with a good-fun group and a dynamic leader Engin Şah. The walking was very leisurely and mostly non-technical but occasionally required some confidence on rougher terrain. Engin led a fascinating rest day trip to the Famagusta area, visiting the Green Line, the closed-off resort of Varosha, and Roman Salamis. The hotel (The Ship Inn) was a good base with friendly staff, a gym, two (unheated) swimming pools, but is a little too far from the harbour to walk after a day out so the group mostly ate there in the evenings.

What a wonderful trip! This trip activity level is rated 3 of 4 (strenuous) so be prepared for lots of walking and hiking, although it is ALL very doable. We loved being on the highest mountain peaks, our local guides were knowledgeable and fun, and the towns we visited were quintessential Alps. Our tour guide and driver were so engaging and fun. Guides were inconsistent.... Some were very good and took personal interest... Some also knew their history well.. A special mention of Julio Magyar.. He did an excellent job of giving us a backdrop... Mariano too... Hotels were not always upto standard especially innsbruck Allen the breakfast of which was very basic.. Too long bus rides.. Should have kept trains for the longer trips.. My legs were swollen... Guides shd be with us much more... Some disappeared..
